While we had enabled power saving for the vivante gpu on the #librem5 since some time we couldn't power off the corresponding regulator (power supply) since the phone would hang then. Turns out we just didn't give it enough time to come back up. Fix is already merged into linux-next: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git/commit/?id=3b66e4a8e58a85af3212c7117d7a29c9ef6679a2
I've put together a short overview on #phosh and closely related components and how they play together: https://honk.sigxcpu.org/con/phosh_overview.html
The 3rd of my Librem 5 recent teasers, that was made in lock-down mode, with what I had at home : https://lbry.tv/@purism:8/gaming-that-respects-you:7
#phosh 0.7.1 is out 🚀 : https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/phosh/-/releases/v0.7.1
Bug fixes for keyboard navigation, monitor unplug, and modal dialog background rendering (@dos) but also new features like keygrabbing support (to make e.g media keys work) by @devrtz and initial logind support.
Here's a bit of doc how #phosh's session is set and what it interacts with: https://honk.sigxcpu.org/projects/phosh/docs/ch01.html

#phosh 0.7.0 is out 🚀 : https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/phosh/-/releases/v0.7.0
This features automatic media mounting, initial support for background XML, handling of per app `show-banners` notification setting and fixes for swipe window closing by @exalm@floss.social
There will be another #XMPP #sprint upcoming weekend. The topic is on UX and features.

Starting a phone call from the terminal on a #librem5 Birch. This call is to the good old "Fröken ur" speaking-clock service telling us the current time in Swedish. Fröken ur apparently existed since 1934 but it was not until 2020 that I learned how to call her from the terminal. 😃 Thanks @dos for the tip that xdg-open could be used in this way. @purism #calls #mobile #gnu #linux #freesoftware
... and here's the same from yesterday but on a #librem5.
For some reason #plymouth chokes a little compared to the devkit. Patches are all out there now so everyone can build their own encrypted #PureOS images.
#osk-sdl changes are already merged upstream, thanks @craftyguy
Based on @craftyguy 's #osk-sdl work i added cryptsetup-initramfs support to the #librem5's image-builder so one can build #luks encrypted images too. There's more work needed for this to hit the factory floor but at least one can build own images with encryption once all is merged. The video shows the devkit since this a bit simpler to debug over serial:
#phosh 0.6.0 is out 🚀 : https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/phosh/-/releases/v0.6.0
Besides more fixes for docked mode, the most visible change is @exalm@floss.social 's work to close apps by swiping up. This needs #libhandy 1.0.2.
