@chrichri Yay! Gesichter auch auf dem Telefon verpixelt?

@SheDrivesMobility

Nein, nein, nicht Smartphones sind marktüblich. proprietäre Smartphones mit Google's Android oder Apples iOS sollen angeblich marktüblich sein. Muss halt jeder selber gucken wo seine Daten so bleiben.

Benutzer freier Software, (z.B. ) gucken komplett in die Röhre.

@mamichel1 @CoderThomasB @devrtz @purism

It's all uploaded to octarine already. When it will reach all librem5 phones depends how well it does there and if any issues come up.

phosh 0.27.0 is out 🚀📱:

This one has a new menu on power button long press, initial emergency calls support (thanks @CoderThomasB, @devrtz), improvements on the compositor side, new completers in phosh-osk-stub, configurable ring tones and more.

Check out the full release notes at phosh.mobi/releases/rel-0.27.0

@purism

@calebccff I'm aware that this doesn't help right now but maybe for the future: dreamsourcelab.com/product/dsl has free software tooling.

Thank you to @bragefuglseth and the folks in the App Icon Design team ( matrix.to/#/#appicondesign:gno ) for help designing a new icon for Phosh Antispam!

We are looking to possibly rename the app, so if you have ideas, they are welcome!

@zachdecook @dperson squeekboard doesn't like to be replaced (gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/s) . phosh-osk-stub can replace itself though (that's what I'm usually using). If you don't want to use the debian package and `update-alternatives` you can add phosh-osk-stub to /usr/bin/osk-wayland .

@dperson @zachdecook The completer itself will likely make it into -osk-stub 0.26.0 but the plumbing (disable completion, swiping over characters) needs a bit more time so that won't be in any repos too soon.
Building a Debian package from the Merge request is simple though (as it contains the packaging data). You also need to build and configure swipeGuess.

@baliceauxPelican @zachdecook The possibility for doing that has been available since some time, see gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/phosh- (using uim) or
gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/phosh- (using varnam) - for other completers. Looking forward to someone looking into fcitx or ibus.

@zachdecook What a coincidence 🚀 I have to admit that this was the first time I used swipe input (my previous phone had a hardware keyboard)

@dubstar_04 @zachdecook Swiping the spacebar to position the cursor in unaffected by this as the OSK switches to a different "mode" for that.

Ever since doing the initial completion support in 's osk-stub I wanted to add a generic "unix pipe" like completer. phosh-osk-stub would feed the program preedit on stdin and read the completions from the program's stdout.

That is there now and with that and some more changes I can use @zachdecook 's to do swipe like typing. To be clear: all the hard work is done by swipeGuess, phosh-osk-stub just piggy backs on it:

@kyle 🎉 Congratulations to getting this out!

Is there a "sample chapter" for people to peek at? So one can get a feel about the text to example ratio, typeface, how distro agnostic it is, etc.

Nice #Librem5 update today brings Camera-Update. All the different functions (Gain, Balance, Exposure, Focus) can now be set to auto. While not always working perfect, this enhances my fotos as my use case in 99 % is not to set all parameters perfectly but to just take quick a foto. Also there is video-recording now. I am excited. I am about two weeks daily driving my Librem5 now and I feel that I will not switch back to Android. #purism #linuxphones
