Dear @junocomputers if you sell computers and use Free Software Operating systems it is not o.k. to assume you can free ride on community support.
It makes me sad to have mails from users in my inbox that are stuck with an unusable device on a Sunday and are seeking help to get it going again. This is your job.
Please listen to your customer's issue. If it's a software issue in the latest upstream version forward it with a good description.

Progress in supporting Indic languages in phosh-osk-stub:
- merged initial completer support for Indic languages based on libvarnam earlier this week
- have an MR to switch from libvarnam to more modern govarnam (thx @subins2000
- @arunmani is looking into making all the possible completions available
- have an MR to allow to switch between different completion engines automatically (e.g. use #hunspell for Us & De and #varnam for #Malayalam (see video below)

People had different theories why phosh-osk-stub woudn't use the whole display width on wider displays so I was buckling up for a full afternoon of debugging sizing issues but as it turns out after a couple of minutes we were just missing a tightening-threshold in a HdyClamp: Rest of the afternoon saved thanks to #gtk inspector 🎉
There is a long standing issue in #phoc (the #wayland compositor used with #phosh (but as I recently learned also other projects like #bananui) that makes windows flip their size when crossing a screen edge (as tiling is (incorrectly) kicking in). This makes dragging windows around in docked mode harder than necessary.
This is about to improve and (thanks to the ground work over the past months) we can also add some visual feedback:
Flipping the wifi/bt killswitch is sufficient. Here's a short video. The audio quality isn't great but you can hear the switch from speaker to the car's audio:

phosh 0.30.0 is out 🚀📱:

phosh 0.29.0 is out 🚀📱:
This release brings Improved audio device selection, notifications for ongoing calls, a new sensors panel (thanks @devrtz) suspend from system menu (thanks undef) and more!

While at that I put notifications and media player widget into the same
scrolled window and have that use more vertical space so things are (hopefully) less clumsy to use.

While one could get back to an ongoing call on #phosh's lockscreen by swiping
to the right it wasn't clear if there was still a call ongoing. This will be
improved by showing a notification on the lockscreen making it hard to miss (and which we can likely also use to switch between calls once the calls app supports it):

Simplifying audio device selection in #phosh (which also needs a tweak in #pipewire to get nice icons on #LinuxMobile too):
The transition between the normal and HC theme is now supported by an animation making it less surprising (video is at 2 x speed):

@devrtz added a sensor panel to mobile-settings that allows you to enable automatic HC and tweak the threshold at which ambient light intensity it kicks in:

And this is how it looks on a device with notch. Also enabled PHOC_DEBUG=cutouts so phoc renders the bounding box of these.
phosh 0.28.0 is out 🚀📱:
There's quality of life and visual improvements both in phone and docked mode.

git-buildpackage 0.9.31 is out:
http://lists.sigxcpu.org/pipermail/git-buildpackage/2023-May/000488.html
If you use --upstream-vcs-tag and have projects with repacked tarballs then this release should make this use case simpler (thanks to a patch by Richard Laager). There's some bugfixes as well.
Testing the new merge request to set lockscren wallpapers in #phosh while waiting for vodafone's hotline to *please* fix out internet connection (which they fail to do so for seven days in a row now).
