Receiving MMS messages on the #librem5 is getting closer to working by default. In #PureOS byzantium the needed #libqmi and #ModemManager fixes are already there now, we just need to add #mmsd and purple-mm-sms manually: https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/chatty/-/issues/30#note_157487 Thanks to Chris T and @craftyguy #GNU #Linux #chatty #freesoftware @purism
@spacemanspiffy Three pictures made quickly after each other, turned into a GIF with gifski.
@anirudh All gain/exposure/focus adjustment is manual so far. This means that when, say, making photos of constantly moving objects like cats you tend to lower exposure and apply a lot of gain so you have a chance to catch it in a still pose. Also, we need more driver work to access longer exposure modes anyway. It's all WIP and changes quickly, plus my photos are just me having fun along the way and aren't really proper demonstration of sensor's abilities ;)
@dukethereal It would probably be better to move farther and use a bit of analog zoom for this kind of photo on such camera, I guess - but since there's no analog zoom on L5 I tried to position them both the same way instead.
@Alexmitter Sooner or later yes. Most likely when the kernel drivers get media request API support, as otherwise we need a fork which is probably not worth rebasing onto 1.x.
@chrichri Made this for you: https://social.librem.one/@dos/106215323597361274 :)
Librem 5 (left) vs Canon SX740 HS (right)
Both photos are taken at around 3MP (quarter the resolution L5 actually supports, but for now only from the command line, while I took it using Megapixels). Manually adjusted the raw image from L5 to have similar color balance as Canon's photo.
