@razze a bit more than a year ago: social.librem.one/@agx/1102605 (hope it didn't get broken in the meantime by other changes 😃 ). Should we add that to the mobile settings options too? I was hesitant as I have no idea how much it is tested by people.

The OSK panel in mobile settings is becoming more complete. After adding layout selection last cycle, selecting the default text completer is on its way now too. The data is provided by the OSK so new completers are picked up automatically.

@badrihippo

> Unfortunately Weston had the same issues.

In fact that's good new as we can take /phoc out of the equation and it's likely triggered by the graphics stack in the android image.

@WeAreFairphone ….and now they reached out via the ticket. Looking forward to see how well that goes.

@WeAreFairphone

So I tried the chat:

First one ends up in "Generated by AI" messages and then a "Customer Support says: We’re getting many chat requests right now, so you may wait longer than usual. Thanks for your patience!" and then nothing happens.

I guess I'll just need switch to another product/company as I'm pretty dependent on NC head phones.

Thanks a lot for your help though!

@WeAreFairphone

> The broken hinge is a known issue

Oh dear. Thanks for letting me know.

> Have you tried their Live Chat?

Not yet. They don't specify a timezone. Is that UTC?

(it's also my main test case for Bluetooth testing 😃 )

Any hints how to get a response from support? It's been almost a week since I contacted them regarding a warranty case (a broken hinge on an only 3mo old Fairbuds XL 🎧) and except for the auto responder it's total radio silence. (I''m pretty dependent on the noise canceling feature).

@badrihippo Look at the GPU / Waydroid interaction. Looks like a something is off there. Maybe a wrong format specifier but could also be outdated mesa in the image)? Could very much be device dependent. Maybe someone can confirm it doesn't happen on e.g. L5 of PP ? (or maybe it does which would also tell us something).

(you can likely take phosh/phoc out of the equation here (e.g. by checking with Weston)).

@badrihippo @Blort Thanks. Please file an issue against p-o-s once you have some details as this makes is a bit easier to follow than fedi.

> I've noticed that Ctrl+C'ed text doesn't necessarily match with the paste button

Not a third clipboard. If the text doesn't match there's likely a bug elsewhere. Do you have a reproducer? Maybe clipboard selection vs primary selection?

> There's also a little tool(tip/bar) when I select text in some apps (GTK4?) with options to cut, copy, or select all; that one correpsonds to the paste button

The tooltips/bar is part of GTK. That uses just the regular selection.

@petrisch Thanks. I've seen and ⭐ -ed it already. It's totally awesome!

I guess I need to move to the fosstodon instance so I can have it in my profile 😄

@badrihippo I think something like gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/phosh- which allows us to build the DB from current and dfsg free data. This will need some experimentation to find a good balance between DB size and good data. We can also certainly enhance the scripting to parse more articles and then drop rows from the table with few occurrences.

As usual, help is here very welcome.

@badrihippo @Blort It would only work for text-input. ctrl-c/v is a good fallback for most apps but the quest is to make it superfluous in as many apps as possible.

@badrihippo you can expand the terminal shortcuts to your liking (and also add actual cursor keys there)

@badrihippo All GTK4 related issues I'm aware off are resolved but we still have the issue of a good corpus (hopefully for 0.43) for presage before we can mark it as non-experimental.

I've also seen presage hit internal assertions so hunspell is still the safer bet (but a lot less useful too)

Do you have any experience in Python and GTK4? Do you want to help maintain an app with literally tens of users? Do you hate every web browser to the point you want to avoid it altogether?

Web Apps is the app for you (to help maintain)! I have marked a few issues as 'contribution welcome' here: codeberg.org/eyekay/webapps/is

University is starting to keep me busier than usual, but I don't want to let it create yet another abandonware strewn in the GNOME ecosystem.

#gnome

@haui Nice!

You're likely aware but just in case: gnome-calls with SIP should work see gitlab.com/postmarketOS/pmapor and the MR linked there.

You could do home assistant lights with 's launcher-box plugin as band aid (e.g. add launchers and use the or progress bar/counter API to indicate on/off)
(a real plugin for homeassistant would be nice though).
