@wyatwerp my main rationale is fun developing it 🙂 Apart from that it's not only about #gtk / #libhandy for UI (wxwidget will not easily fit on phone screens or be #adaptive) but also being able to use other #gobject introspectable libs like #libnm to poke at #Networkmanager, etc.

Situation improves further when bringing the #arm64 #pixman optimizations forward to #PureOS #Byzantium (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pixman/pixman/-/merge_requests/20) which were only in amber-phone and which everyone needs to pull since it's not merged in #pixman upstream.

The power difference with #webkit / #epiphany watching the Big Buck Bunny demo with #hantro VPU enabled is about 500mA less power at @1920 x1080 and it renders smoothly while it stutters badly in software.
