@zwarf In general it's good practice to backup your GPG keys in offline storage so you can restore them, but even in the case you didn't, after 90 seconds this falls back to your regular disk unlock passphrase. That way you can select a much stronger passphrase that would otherwise be inconvenient to type each time you boot.

@Konqi Yes the very same! A number of Japanese companies that are now household names (like Sharp) seem to have been early in the electronic calculator market.

@hehemrin I saw a few comments in my timeline from folks advising new Mastodon users about features, and one included setting up a column that served as a custom timeline search for sets of hashtags reflecting your interests and realized more people likely use hashtags to find posts than I thought, simply because I didn't personal use hashtags this way.

Yesterday I learned via a fiber arts podcast that the surname Walker was derived from the profession of Scottish waulkers who took part in waulking: the process of fulling (felting) woolen handwoven fabric by foot to make them denser/warmer. #weaving

I realized I hardly ever add topical hashtags to posts which probably makes it tougher for folks around the fediverse to see things I write that they might be interested in. I'll try to do better with future posts about #weaving , #calculators , #addingmachines and #Linux #FOSS and #infosec topics.

@goatwildernesscollective It should be possible but someone would have to write GPG integration to unlock that keyring. Once that is there the smart card should "just work".
