@karlemilnikka har de verkligen inte funktionen "ladda ner alla mina dokument" eller motsvarande? Det borde man väl kunna, behövs ju t.ex. om man vill exportera allting för att man vill byta till en annan tjänst?

@implementcontrols yeah just that word should do it, I went with a filter for "youtu.be" also since that seems to be quite common now.

Starting today, I am escalating my war against #google by adding a filter in #mastodon that auto-removes any posts with #youtube links from my feed.

For anyone in the habit of posting youtube links here:
- I recommend that you stop doing that. Post #PeerTube links instead, or whatever else, just not youtube (google).
- If you continue to post youtube links then I will not see those posts because of the filter I just added. Don't worry, I will still see your other posts.

@iakonkret @coffe @Aspergerblues apropå företags "excuses to validate the bad behavior" tror jag det spelar roll här att ju större ett företag är, desto mer troligt är det att företaget kommer att agera på ett sätt som vi människor ser som "omoraliskt". Företag har ju i grunden ingen uppfattning om rätt och fel, det de förstår sig på är vinst. I ett litet företag kan enskilda anställdas moral ibland ändå påverka. Men för större bolag är det mer och mer det rena vinstintresset som styr.

@bart as I understand it, based on what they wrote here https://puri.sm/posts/pureos-optional-subscription-added-to-advance-development/ where it says "PureOS will continue to be freely available for all, there is no product difference for subscribers or non-subscribers", I guess it's really just a monthly donation system, they just call it "subscription" instead of "donation".

@linmob when you subscribed, did you get anything, anything (a secret code or whatever) that you now have which non-subscribers do not have?

IMO, for anything related to #privacy you should avoid google. Involving google hurts your credibility.

I would like to watch that recording but not at the price of going to a google site and accepting their terms and whatever. I don't like google, I don't want google's tracking.

Can your recording be found somewhere else, or is youtube (google) the only place?

Om man ska jämföra med nutiden är det värt att tänka på att på den tiden filmen handlar om behövde Stasi lägga ner avsevärt jobb för att genomföra övervakningen av en enda person, de skickar ju ett team som planterar mikrofoner på plats och så har de folk som sitter och lyssnar, Stasi lägger massor av arbetstid på det. Nuförtiden kan man övervaka många fler med mindre arbetsinsats. Massövervakning är alltså mycket lättare att göra idag.
