This is very good news: Switzerland has a new law that takes effect starting this year, saying that the Swiss public sector at national level shall publish source code for the software it develops or pays others to develop.

@hehemrin jag tror den stora fördelen (jämfört med en vanlig korsning) är att alla tvingas köra långsamt, plus kanske att ganska många kommer ihåg att de inne i rondellen har företräde.
Har vagt minne av en Norge-historia som gick ut på att i Norge är det tvärtom så att de utanför, alltså de trafikanter som är på väg in i rondellen, har företräde. Vilket inte blir så bra. Typiskt norrmän 🙂

@cnx @iron_bug another possibility is that the ISP already had some proprietary software installed on users' computers, like their own proprietary VPN client or "antivirus" program or "broadband helper program" or whatever that is supposed to "improve user experience" etc. Then they can later sneak in whatever other malware they want via automatic updates of that program.
@cnx @iron_bug I think that since this was a company wanting to install malware on its own users' computers it may not have been that difficult: they could have sent an email saying "for security reasons you are required to install this program" and then many customers will install that closed-source program, which can be malware.
If I understood correctly the article does not say that ALL their customers got the malware installed, so then it could be just the obedient ones who installed it.

I think there is some mistake with the time zones there, I think EDT is UTC−04 and CET is UTC+01 so the difference between them is 5 hours. But you write "11AM-EDT/5PM-CET" as if it's 6 hours time difference. Should it be "11AM-EDT/4PM-CET"? Or maybe "CEST" instead of "CET"?

Någon annan börjar fixa saker som att byta olja på bilen. Den som lever själv har inget val, och dessutom ingen störig partner som lägger sig i och säger att man gör fel. 🙂

@hehemrin du kommer att kunna skydda dig så länge du kan använda fri programvara. En otäck sak med med allt det här är att den dagen Strömmer&co förstår att fri programvara finns så kommer de troligen att vilja förbjuda fri programvara. Att kompilera egen kod blir då olagligt, man får bara köra program som är godkända av staten.
Sen upptäcker de kanske att brottslingar andas luft. Att andras fritt som idag är då inte längre tillåtet utan du får bara andas genom statens apparat.
