Initial compositor #gesture code is now merged onto #phosh and #phoc's main development branches. There's some visual and structural stuff to fix before the next release but I'm running it since weeks now and it proved to be pretty stable.

phosh 0.17.0 is out 🚀📱 :

The release is a bit smaller than usual but syncing up with #GNOME 42 is well worth it:

* Add mobile data (or rather lack thereof) indicator
* Implement portal access API
* Sync up with GNOME 42 changes

If you're running #PureOS you can install `l5-devscripts` on your device and then just do:

```
l5-fetch-next phosh-byz
```

and it will fetch the latest #phosh-next Debian package from CI and install it for testing.

With the groundwork for gestures coming to #phoc I wanted to see if we can reuse the animation code needed for that in other places like #phoc's tiling window placement.

As of 0.15.0 #phosh supports arbitrary passwords. Those who want to stick to 0⃣1⃣2⃣3⃣4⃣5⃣6⃣7⃣8⃣9⃣ can shuffle the layout to make 🕵️‍♀️ a bit harder (once the merge request landed). Can be turned ▶️/⏹️ via a gsetting.

I used that to explore completion via #fzf and a simple word list a bit. Turns out it does quite well for German due to the rather long words, not so well for English. But now I have the problem partitioned between the on screen keyboard side and what is needed on the completion side in my head.

Heads up: phosh-osk-stub moved out of #phosh's repo and to: https://gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/phosh-osk-stub as it acquired more and more cruft while debugging some (now fixed) touch input related issues in #gtk 4.

Mostly mentioning it here since some distros (such as #debian) used it in the past on architectures that had trouble building #rust to fulfill session dependencies (which is not an issue anymore nowadays) so it can safely be dropped.
