@kirschner @fsfe Great initiative. Hope it works out!
Best thing for customers is to avoid Apple in the first place and rather channel money to companies supporting user freedom and the #FreeSoftware movement.
"#iPhones and #iPads are not general purpose computers" states #Apple. I vehemently disagree!!

@crft Just check how you can autologin with e.g. gdm or phog by following the DisplayManagers steps for autologin.
You should also be able to autologin with tinydm by either passing `-U` to phosh or making sure there's a `GDMSESSSION=phosh` in the environment.
So it's technically not a bug in tinydm but how you have configured the display manager to launch your session.
@dos @kyle The article cold have been more clear here but I still think another supported device could become a net positive for gnome, phosh and the LinuxMobile ecosystem.
"The Hong Kong-based company is working with a Chinese OEM to make sure that there are native Linux drivers for all the device's hardware." could be promising if native means "mainline".
I'm happy to announce the availability of my new app "eSIM Manager" on postmarketOS! With it you can manage and install eSIMs on your phone running postmarketOS! No more need to boot into Android to do the same!

We've tagged version 0.2.0 of #livi (a small video player for #LinuxMobile) a couple of days ago and @rmader updated it on #flathub also bumping #gstreamer to 1.24.4 improving #h256 and #vp9 support.

@me Idk about other distros but Debian unstable already has it: https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=feedbackd&suite=sid (and of course the phosh nightlly builds have it too: https://phosh.mobi/posts/phosh-nightly/ )
@blake Make your shell use the wlr-layer-shell protocol. See how phosh, squeekboard or phosh-osk-stub do it. Alternatively you can get the "shell in a box" in rust using libphosh-rs: https://gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/libphosh-rs
@Baggypants This looks broken on other compositors too. Might be worth reporting to firefox?
@fsf remind everyone that GNU-like #MobileLinux phones (not iOS and not Android) exist, and are great for #freedom! #LinuxMobile

@agx worked on making #feedbackd a bit more useful and convenient. Some of this landed already and is targeting the next #phosh release
while others might take a bit longer (as they e.g. depend on a calls bug fix release). A short 🧵 👇
@debacle @debacle Maybe https://salsa.debian.org/Mobian-team/devices/kernels/sunxi64-linux/-/issues/94 (ignore that it talks about sunxi) ?
@crft I'd just put the 3 topmost commits on top of the alpine package (and add the build-dependeny to libfeedback-dev) and then build on device.
