@awai I could be a hint that not even Google thinks that Android is still Linux 😃 (and/or they don't have much confidence in vendor kernels)

@badrihippo @agx
I usually get 'hey' for hey swipes, but sometimes hwy/hgwy. Enable multiple suggestions, and maybe cull some words from your list.

gsettings set sm.puri.phosh.osk.Completers.Pipe command 'sh -c "swipeGuess /path/to/words-qwerty-en_gb 5 | tr \"\t\" \"\n\""'

@badrihippo No need to restart the shell, just restart (kill) the keyboard (otherwise development would be way too cumbersome).

@badrihippo Nice. Note that plugging in swipeGuess is the simplest approach. git.sr.ht/~earboxer/SwipeBehav has more elaborate setup. Nice thing is that p-o-s doesn't need to be changed, just the pipe configuration needs to be adjusted.

@badrihippo

Thanks for reporting back! Yeah, I think it makes more sense to keep the selection. It will get more introspectable by users once someone picks up gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/phosh- . We could then also think about handling images as well and show something sensible in the list of selectable entries to paste.

@Blort

Seems some of phosh's features could use some marketing 😃 . Anyway: I've just added how to use swipeGuess in the manpage: gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/phosh-

@razze a bit more than a year ago: social.librem.one/@agx/1102605 (hope it didn't get broken in the meantime by other changes 😃 ). Should we add that to the mobile settings options too? I was hesitant as I have no idea how much it is tested by people.

The OSK panel in mobile settings is becoming more complete. After adding layout selection last cycle, selecting the default text completer is on its way now too. The data is provided by the OSK so new completers are picked up automatically.

@badrihippo

> Unfortunately Weston had the same issues.

In fact that's good new as we can take /phoc out of the equation and it's likely triggered by the graphics stack in the android image.

@WeAreFairphone ….and now they reached out via the ticket. Looking forward to see how well that goes.

@WeAreFairphone

So I tried the chat:

First one ends up in "Generated by AI" messages and then a "Customer Support says: We’re getting many chat requests right now, so you may wait longer than usual. Thanks for your patience!" and then nothing happens.

I guess I'll just need switch to another product/company as I'm pretty dependent on NC head phones.

Thanks a lot for your help though!

@WeAreFairphone

> The broken hinge is a known issue

Oh dear. Thanks for letting me know.

> Have you tried their Live Chat?

Not yet. They don't specify a timezone. Is that UTC?

(it's also my main test case for Bluetooth testing 😃 )

Any hints how to get a response from support? It's been almost a week since I contacted them regarding a warranty case (a broken hinge on an only 3mo old Fairbuds XL 🎧) and except for the auto responder it's total radio silence. (I''m pretty dependent on the noise canceling feature).

@badrihippo Look at the GPU / Waydroid interaction. Looks like a something is off there. Maybe a wrong format specifier but could also be outdated mesa in the image)? Could very much be device dependent. Maybe someone can confirm it doesn't happen on e.g. L5 of PP ? (or maybe it does which would also tell us something).

(you can likely take phosh/phoc out of the equation here (e.g. by checking with Weston)).

@badrihippo @Blort Thanks. Please file an issue against p-o-s once you have some details as this makes is a bit easier to follow than fedi.

> I've noticed that Ctrl+C'ed text doesn't necessarily match with the paste button

Not a third clipboard. If the text doesn't match there's likely a bug elsewhere. Do you have a reproducer? Maybe clipboard selection vs primary selection?

> There's also a little tool(tip/bar) when I select text in some apps (GTK4?) with options to cut, copy, or select all; that one correpsonds to the paste button

The tooltips/bar is part of GTK. That uses just the regular selection.
