Black Hat drama this week shows the risks in creating a machine/process w/ the power to censor a group for personal views. Always starts w/ dangerous/unsympathetic views, inevitably expands to censor other groups based on shakier grounds. #slipperyslope
@jlcrawf @DarkMavrik It's an honor just to be nominated.
@lunduke

@misslav High five. ;)
@naebulys I accept! (And I like you too!)
@lunduke I like Lunduke, and one of the reasons I do is that you REALLY remind me of David Tennant (British actor from Doctor Who mainly)
Obviously I would never tell someone else what to think or what to say. Ever.
Just the same I would consider it a personal favor if, when responding to my posts... if folks could keep the language both "safe for work" and "appropriate for kids."
I like to keep my feed safe to read and see by everyone -- all walks of life, all ages, etc.
Thanks everyone!
@Mayana ACK! You're right! I totally broke the third person rule with that line! CURSES!
And thanks... and welcome! :)
Lunduke likes you for who you are. Even if you don't like Lunduke.
Lunduke knows, apparently, how to write in the third person.
It's time for a round of "Lunduke says obvious things about himself because a few people like to make up things about him."
Lunduke is not now, and has never been, a Nazi.
Lunduke is a proud Jewish man.
Lunduke believes in freedom. Free speech and Free Software are my jam.
Lunduke believes in and lives by the ideals of Bill & Ted: Be excellent to each other.
Lunduke has been fighting for basic civil rights for ALL (incl. same sex marriage) since he became a grown-up in the 90s.
My dad died yesterday.
He was 65 and had become a hero to me. A few months back, when we almost lost my wife and newborn son, my dad came and stayed with us. He took care of my kids -- kept them fed and feeling loved -- while I was taking care of things in the hospitals.
He dropped everything for a month... to make sure he was there for me and our kids.
When I needed help more than any other time in my life... he was there. And he was amazing.
I love you, dad.
@emsenn I definitely wrote that summary.
I was referring to specific government agencies (which I detailed in that episode) and their declaration of Antifa being a terrorist organization. I then went into some reporting (and some conjecture) about what that could mean -- from a legal and tax perspective, as well as from a marketing perspective -- for Mozilla.
It sounds to me like you just don't like the description - didn't contain those details.
But *I* still didn't call them that.

Hey, benefit of the doubt! I'll take it! Let's assume we're all here because we want to make the world a wonderful, awesome place and move from there! :)
Let me respond with a question (I know that's annoying): What would *you* do to counter hate-speech?
I ask, because I am curious. There are many ways to deal with problems on social networks like this. And even more disagreements. I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas on it!
