Tech bro? No that don't make me
See what I want sign up to it swiftly
Felt it in my hips so I swiped back from the app of Twits
Then I tapped for the app, make me wanna do posts for it
Pin them like a intro post should be pinned
Came to my timeline then I found all my friends
Don't know how you do the voodoo that you do
Can post from a shell? Well, makes me wanna toot toot toot
Apologies Salt-n-Pepa
(Hey yeah, I wanna toot, baby)
Ooh, how you doing, baby?
No, not you, you, the #federated one, yeah
What's your name?
Mastodon? That sounds sexy
Uh, here I go, here I go, here I go again
Geeks, what's my weakness? (FOSS!)
OK then, chillin, browsin, minding my business
Yo Musk, I looked around and I couldn't believe this
I swear, I stared, my tab my witness
The server had it going on with something kinda, uh
Federated, moderated,
I'm not shy, so I asked for the instance
I brought an #antique mechanical #calculator (Monroe LN-160X) to my local Linux Users' Group last night for show and tell. But even better, someone else brought their #Curta Type I! I had never seen, much less used one in person before. Everything about them, the look, the feel, the form factor, is fantastic.
I'm #weaving fabric for another tote bag using the krokbragd technique. What I like about this technique is that it allows for a level of improvisation you typically don't get with most weaving.
For instance, I decided this pattern in brown tones will be a bit too bland for the full side of the tote, so I'm going to improvise a banded purple diamond pattern around the middle of the tote to spice things up.
This past weekend I had a #3dprinting jam bad enough it was easier to replace the whole bowden tube. After a print or two I started getting equally bad jams with the new tube! The clue was noticing resistance just pushing filament through the bowden tube. A drop of olive oil on the foam in my dust filter provided enough lubrication and now prints are silky smooth!
When we say the #Librem5 is a mobile computer in your pocket, this is what we mean.
One of our customers (@primalmotion) hacks on custom versions of #PureBoot firmware for their #Librem14 which always runs the risk of temporarily bricking your computer.
When that did inevitably happen, they were able to connect their Librem 5 to their hardware flashing equipment and run the same tools you'd run on your Linux laptop to re-flash working firmware.
Oh look: a fake CA tied to a surveillance company. Nothing to see here. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/11/08/trustcor-internet-addresses-government-connections/
I'll shortly be attempting to migrate to another instance (theoretically all followers automatically get updated? Exciting times), so a brief #introduction while I'm still on this one - I'm a security developer, Linux contributor, and free software advocate focused on ensuring that people are able to make informed decisions about whether their computers are trustworthy and what software can run on them. I also reverse engineer weird IoT things and tend to find exceedingly strange bugs.

Given how easy it is to move to a different Mastodon instance, it will be interesting to see in the coming months to see how many new folks will live in the "big cities", how many will move to small towns, and how many will start their own homesteads. #fediverse
I was in my school's engineering library this morning and found a familiar author. I thought you'd be interested!
My weekend project of installing a mantel over my brick fireplace was stalled by the brick wall being *far* from flat (center sinks in a half inch). After several attempts at shimming the French cleat, still not able to seat the mantel firmly enough to suit me. #homeimprovement
This one is for all the new people on #Mastodon: did you know that the #fediverse has more than just a microblogging replacement? And that they can all interoperate with your Mastodon account?
Check them out!

Let's add some more chaotic energy to the world. I've got a prototype for fpm that converts curl|bash to your favorite package format.
> fpm -s curlbash -t rpm "curl ... | bash"

I recorded this episode of @reality2cast back in April with @shawnp0wers and @kyle about making the move from Twitter to the fediverse with Mastodon and I think it’s all still relevant. It’s a fun and nerdy chat you can check out here: https://www.reality2cast.com/109 #TwitterMigration #podcast #opensource #nerdsWithMics 🤓🎙️
