@mpanhans Yeah, I agree. It just makes sense. Now, not everyone has a site to link, but I think most people who would want to verify their association with any given thing would have a corresponding site.
Also, thanks @kyle for that info. I believe I learned it here: https://www.reality2cast.com/109
A tip for those who haven't seen this yet. #Mastodon has its own "#verification" system. Adding a link to your Mastodon profile from your website using the rel="me" attribute will #verify that the owner of both the site and profile are the same, and you get this nifty green highlight to show it.
Since there are so many new people heading this way in the latest #TwitterMigration, I thought I’d share my #introduction again. I’m an #openSource Evangelist for #Intel and a nerdy podcaster on @reality2cast and FLOSS Weekly on @twitnews where my interests are expanding more and more into #privacy and #security. I am also a #Linux Journal alum and a huge fan of #Drupal, the open web, user and privacy-respecting #hardware and #software, #antique ceramics, and really good #food and #wine.
@jitteringrunt I don’t get out much because patio weather is rare here, but I guess I’m just not used to how funny people are. 😂
@thestrangelet me too, and recently discovered a chai earl grey. Yum.
@starshaped the other contender is a spiral bound one with extra dot grid paper per month from plum paper. I love using dot grid and a larger page for my copious notes, but the spiral can get clunky. Decisions. lol
@starshaped I’m eyeing the hobonichi cousin for 2023.
@starshaped all in for the Hobonchi content! I went back to a paper planner in 2021 I think, and it’s weirdly effective at stress reduction. I’m intrigued by the Hobonchi paper.
Figured I should post an #intro here for those who don’t know me! I’m Aubrey and I work as a #frontenddev at Lullabot, doing fun #drupal goodness with #css and #html. I also write #javascript sometimes, too! For fun I #knit, #run, and plan in my #hobonichi using my many #fountainpens. Give me a follow if any of that sounds interesting!
@mglaman and thanks for the input. It’s something I’ve been thinking about lately in a much broader sense. How to you measure a “healthy” open ecosystem? Do we need to? What’s the right way to balance corporate and community interests? Why does Dimples like to wake me up by making loud digging noises in the middle of the night? These are my Friday night thoughts. #oneofthesethingsisnotliketheother
@jasonbrooks I’ve wished I could quote. I have never thought of it as promoting a negative type of interaction. 🤷♀️
@mglaman nice to see you over here!
@Tay0 I think Galveston is underrated. It has a very certain sort of charm.
