@renita I reread after publish my text was somewhat messy in the beginning. Should read before toot. Anyway, I think it was readable. Thanks for OG-explanation. Wishing you a happy, respected and inclusive Mastodon-life!
@renita I read your thought. I am not sure what I think. But firstly, if you will so, you have the right to feel so and it is true. I also believe it can be correct observation and opinion and the analogy to immigrants. I think one reason for complain and misunderstandings might be Mastodon is many instances, and each of them can differ in code of conduct, praxis etc that also those complaining are not aware of. Also set of tools differ between instances. (OG means?)
@ianhillmedia Yes, but I think Twitter is more for diversified interests and info than groups. But maybe it is more me personally, I focus on ”friends” on Fb, do not follow public accounts and limit groups to a few and minimum. I think of a Swedish tech journalist he wrote noone had suggested Fb as replacement for Twitter, but he did not elaborate on it. I agree Fb groups are easy. Maybe you are right, but I have not seen a trend but may be blind from my personal Fb-strategy.
@ianhillmedia I doubt. I cannot really see groups as for same needs, on Fb, Matrix or else. In some cases yes when a mutual interest. But you maybe have thought more of it and you have an idea.
There is something so comforting about rice for dinner on a chilly night. Mexican style, with side of pinto beans and guacamole. I soaked the beans 🫘 before leaving for work this morning. Bon appetit! #cooking #foodposting #dinner

@katherined I probably - obviously - when I read your examples and other in the thread am not even aware of all of the fediverse! I knew about Pixelfed, have looked at it and have a mental note to one day explore more and possibly also start to share on Pixelfed.
@kyle Thanks, Kyle, always interesting to read you. Two additional notes from my side related to your last paragraph; Connected car and their OS/multiple OS, and health care in mobiles. They can of course be applications using the VR and AI.
My thread here yesterday about this cycle between open and closed protocols inspired me to write a longer-form piece on the subject:
"Log in with Twitter" (Fb, G etc). I just logged into an account where they have alternative login methods. I have never used such, of security and privacy reasons. For the last few years I have separate and unique logins for every site managed in a password manager. A thought now is, what if I had used an alternative that will get into deep troubles? I don't thing T will be obsolete, but still not totally unthinkable. #privacy #security #passwordmanager My articles: https://www.hemrin.com/component/tags/tag/privacy-and-security
Sverige motsätter sig skapandet av en fond för klimatskadestånd och försvårar därmed förhandlingarna på #COP27 . Den här fonden skulle ge avgörande stöd för de mest drabbade – det är en fråga om liv och död för otaliga människor.

@eliasr @shawnp0wers @reality2cast @katherined @dsearls @kyle And I suppose it means the reader has to click on the reply-boost, in order to see the message that is meant to be boosted.
@eliasr @shawnp0wers @reality2cast @katherined @dsearls @kyle I have read someone suggest a work around to achieve a sort of ”boost with quote” that is possible today: use instead ”reply” and delete the handle in the reply. This means it will come on your line similar to a ”boost with quote”. I’m not sure it’s a good idea, for now I only share it as info without any own opinion.
