Wondering if the real beneficiary of #RIPTwitter will be Facebook Groups, not #Mastodon.
@ianhillmedia I doubt. I cannot really see groups as for same needs, on Fb, Matrix or else. In some cases yes when a mutual interest. But you maybe have thought more of it and you have an idea.
@hehemrin In the U.S. there are a lot of Facebook Groups built around mutual interests, and there is no learning curve, which is the challenge with Mastodon.
@ianhillmedia Yes, but I think Twitter is more for diversified interests and info than groups. But maybe it is more me personally, I focus on ”friends” on Fb, do not follow public accounts and limit groups to a few and minimum. I think of a Swedish tech journalist he wrote noone had suggested Fb as replacement for Twitter, but he did not elaborate on it. I agree Fb groups are easy. Maybe you are right, but I have not seen a trend but may be blind from my personal Fb-strategy.
