@Cain@theres.life @benjaminhollon @Big_Diggity I don't think cables will ever go away. They're more fast, secure, robust, and much less fussy.

@Cain@theres.life I do think it is for sure government overreach.

I know lots of folks don't use correct punctuation on line, but when you want to, how to do end a sentence so that the link still works? Do you put a space before the "." or "?", do you try to reword the sentence so the link isn't the last word, or do you put it at the end and not worry about your readers' application correctly identify the link vs. punctuation?

@Fu I know that with s, I'll sometimes put a Zero Width Space between the end of the hashtag and what I want to put after it. Word wrap aside, it works well (see above)

When I visited Canada I was surprised at how much better the chocolate, even the inexpensive mass-produced chocolate, tasted compared to comparable brands in the US.

I could be because Canada has tighter regulations on % of chocolate in their recipes, but today I learned it was probably also the lack of lead and cadmium: metro.co.uk/2022/12/29/hershey

@Cain@theres.life Sin is unstable. I'm not sure how long the nation will last.

@servant That's too bad.
Maybe you'll find another way someday.

@Big_Diggity I don't think there will ever be a final standard 🤷‍♂️

I've been very careful in how I approach pixelfed development in regards to Instagram and their ToS/trademarks.

This is why you can't crosspost, or otherwise access IG apis via Pixelfed.

They are grasping at straws at this point, along with banning Pixelfed urls, this behavior is desperate.

We must be doing something right 😉

@system76 I feel like it would be in the style of Ode to Sleep by Twenty-One Pilots lol

@RL_Dane I used to use 1.5x scaling, but have found that enabling large text from GNOME Tweaks (or GNOME Settings?) actually works very very well. It shrinks GNOME-style chunky touch-friendly widgets. And for some reason, pretty much every other GUI toolkit I use seems to adjust (based on the large text setting I suppose?). Electron apps don't always adjust on their own though; but just Ctrl+Underscore to scale it.

I may have made some other size adjustments to make my setup work that I forgot.

@RL_Dane Sway supports fractional scaling. I have been using Sway for a long time, I'd love to give a few "pro" tips I've picked up if you want help. But apparently it works well with an existing i3 config.

@RL_Dane I know that GNOME supports fractional scaling very well, with Wayland. I used to use it all the time, it was excellent. I think I used 1.5x.

Merry Christmas y'all! Wishing you all the best possible.
