The firmware replacement is the work of Biktorgj (https://github.com/Biktorgj) :) I work on the #ModemManager part to integrate the modem properly within #phosh.
It would be interesting to see if this is related to ModemManager or the modem firmware. Feel free to reach out to us on Matrix in #pinedev:matrix.org !

To the tech community let's stop using the phrase "This is or isn't my daily driver". This is terrible and who should have say three cars in the garage and only use the Prius for Groceries, the Porsche for Highway driving, the the Tahoe for going skiing. That's for rich people, how about having one daily driver like a Subaru to do it all, there should be one device to rule them all not 3 or 7 that's a nightmare scenario when it comes to maintenance costs, upkeep costs, cross device data loss etc
@purism doesn't make sense why no give librem tunnel users the open vpn cents and keypads file and let them install librem tunnel via open vpn app. I tried that in iOS and doesn't work either, why would that not work??

Oh also I forgot to mention what opensnitch was. It's similar to Little Snitch on Macs, but for Linux. It tracks outgoing network connections and throws up prompts so you can allow/deny them. https://github.com/evilsocket/opensnitch/
