HW/GPU vendors are very creative when using the available register space. Just pack some values in some unused bits of an already used register and call it a day. Takes some time to RE these things.

Hi, I need help! Would you possibly be interested to buy an album with artworks and sketches from "Karambola" (and perhaps some stories behind the puzzles), if I were to make one :) ? (Unless you have other suggestions;)) Hands up! Thanks for your input!!

I'm laughing at memes about billionaires who can't pull themselves up to the surface by their own bootstraps, but in reality I'm furious.

I'm furious I was accused of human smuggling by FRONTEX (European border agency) for being part of a sea rescue operation that saved 1000+ lives of refugees fleeing war & terrorism.

I'm furious at the money and international effort being spent to rescue these billionaires when operations like ours cost so little and save so many lives, but are punished.

Apparently Flappy Bird is 10 years old this year. It reminded me of my crappy ncurses remake I did back in 2014. Now it reacts to mouse input and does haptic feedback when played on a phone 😂 gitlab.com/dosowisko.net/flasc

Mobile #Linux at #DevConf_CZ. I've added my OnePlus 6 to the collection. Thank you, @jmlich, for running the booth.

First week with my #Librem5 as my only phone. What happened so far:
- Synchronized contacts and calendar (Nextcloud)
- Added appointment to calendar and new contacts
- Made phone calls (nornal, loudspeaker)
- Wrote, received SMS
- Used Matrix
- Browesd the web
- Listen to music (Aux, Bluetooth, loudspeeker)
- Made a WiFi Hotspot
- Wrote a Python script to plot a complicated function
- Read News
- Took pictures
- Checked my location on the map
- Wrote this post
- Played games
- Probably more

Haven't seen anyone posting this yet, so I figured I'll share it: during our recent #Gnome #mobileLinux hackfest we got the experimental #libcamera pipeline handler for the #purism #Librem5 to work and make a video call with @dino. There were still some serious issues we didn't have time to debug any more - but hey, it's something :) (featuring @cas )

Yesterday, my friend's son turned four. They had his party at the lake. Since there wasn't really an address to share, my friend sent me the GPS coordinates.
I plugged them into Puremaps and it led me straight there while I was also listening to a podcast.
and the have come a long way.

Short overview about my feelings towards the #Librem5 after using it for 2 days as my only device.
What impresses me the most:
- Phone calls overall are flawless
- It feels quite snappy and responsive
- Not one single reboot or crash so far

What currently confuses me the most:
- Chatty doesn't load images in the matrix chat
- Instead of some room names, Chatty shows the room IDs
- All other matrix chat apps are also not working well.
I wasn't expecting matrix to be my biggest problem.

Google made it official that important apps like Messaging and Dialer are no longer maintained in the Android Open Source project. A free Android on its own is pretty much useless now.

PSA: If you're an adventurous PureOS user who has enabled `landing` repository in order to receive untested updates early, brace yourself: in a few days `landing` is going to start tracking Debian bookworm (instead of bullseye) and targeting PureOS crimson (instead of byzantium). It will still take some time to make crimson work, so please disable the repo! If you still want to be on the bleeding edge, consider enabling `byzantium-updates-proposed` instead.

It's bookworm release day! Across the world members of the release, publicity, images and FTP teams are brewing industrial quantities of coffee as their final preparations are completed #ReleasingDebianBookworm

First day with my new #Librem5:
I am impressed how much already works out of the box. Maybe I will write a short overview about my experience in the next few weeks.
I will try to use it as my main device as soon as possible.

Today I spent almost 9 hours running around a city, with my #Librem5 . I used waydroid in it with an app that allows to find public transport connections and buy tickets. I used it quite frequently, checking how can I get to a next point I had planned.
I returned with 40% battery left. The recent battery life improvement is awesome! (puri.sm/posts/librem-5-battery)

HowTo: Getting a GPS fix inside a multi-story building:

Experimenting with utilizing assisted GNSS techniques on . Cold fix takes about 3 minutes in perfect conditions, but can easily take *much* longer otherwise - that's how GPS works. However, by downloading satellite data from the Internet instead of the sky it can go down to under a minute; sometimes even just a few seconds. Still a proof-of-concept at this point, but can already tell that catching a fix gets significantly easier this way:)
