Librem 5 waking up from system suspend on incoming call's first signal; soon your L5 will do that too.

Sure, Android might be "Open Source" good luck trying to tweak part of the core system without having to build and re-flash the ENTIRE OS, and probably format your phone.

Android was not built to be modified by anyone who doesn't use the term "end user" on a near daily basis.

and like, damn girl, we can do better than this

@chetfaliszek Looks like it certainly did, just hasn't reinforced it enough to get the details right.

@chetfaliszek Just use the "follow" button liberally and you'll collect enough noise in no time ;)

@sos @fasterthanlime I'm still using NDK r14b cause the last time I tried to update it it turned out that everything after that was subtly broken (in various ways between various versions...)

SIGBOVIK (sigbovik.org), a real AND VERY PRESTIGIOUS conference about fake computer science, is looking for submissions. Still not too late to squeeze in a good joke for the March 27th submission deadline

@mcc It is! It's a real time saver, particularly handy at game jams. One time I even tried cross-building stuff for desktop platforms on my phone using Docker and qemu-user. Took it a while but it Just Worked™ 😁

@mcc That's why I'm only ever producing builds of my games using Linux containers, cross-compiling to all other platforms. Once the container image is done, it will keep working on whichever machine I run it on, making automated CI trivial. Rebuilding the container itself is also automated, so updating the SDK or augmenting with additional libs if necessary is not a big deal either.
I got sick of having to rely on some arcane SDK installation on a single system that I was then afraid to touch :P

During the photoshoot I came up with this idea how to show the thunderstorm. But I'm not sure if it's not too much for photosensitive people. What do you think?

#stopmotion #animation #stopmotionanimation #diorama #scenography #miniature #art #antique #thunderstorm #storm #mastoart

@williamtries@fosstodon.org You don't need to reencrypt nor resize the latest images, it's done automatically at first boot.

For building stuff like Millipixels, I'd rather advice using Debian packaging to automatically resolve dependencies and build an installable .deb file, as installing things manually quickly becomes a huge unmanageable mess.

PureOS comes with working mobile config for Firefox in firefox-esr-mobile-config package, which IIRC should be installed by default on the phone.

Overall, I really love the Librem. It is a vast improvement over the pinephone/pinephonepro. I liked my pinephones also, but the librem is just a much better phone.
I am starting my third year with a linux phone and I have no plans of going back. Especially now that I have the librem.
This phone is almost to the point that I could recommend it to some people. I am hopeful that by the end of this year, I might actually could start to recommed it.

@jlcrawf I'm happy to report that updates that get rid of that long-standing issue are now on the way!

@BalooUriza @karllouis @Gargron It sure is. Doing actions on remote instances used to be easy, now it's a burden.
