This is exactly the kind of problem we are trying to solve with the Librem 5 on multiple fronts, hardware and software.

It's been so difficult to keep quiet about Librem 5 USA! It's a Librem 5 phone with electronics fabricated in the US like our Librem Key and devkit. As I mention in the post, our goal is to shrink our and directly oversee as much of the process as possible.

@fsf Lists the Librem 5 in its Giving Guide fsf.org/blogs/community/ethica The Purism Librem 5 cell phone is another exciting addition to the Giving Guide this year: we're giving it a tentative recommendation because the company has publicly committed to doing the right things for prioritizing user freedom and privacy. We also have evaluated and endorsed the operating system that the Librem 5 will run, the fully free PureOS, and the phone is designed for maximum privacy, security, and user freedom.

This opt-in requirement is critical, and the precise thing tech orgs successfully lobbied to remove from the CCPA:

"As a first step, governments must enact laws to ensure companies including Google and Facebook are prevented from making access to their service conditional on individuals “consenting” to the collection, processing or sharing of their personal data for marketing or advertising."

blank on power button press coming to to the Librem 5 and it's devkit. This is on linux-next + nwl and mxsfb patches and some not yet merged phoc/wlroots patches:

A week ago Unbox Therapy featured the Librem 13 v4 on their channel youtu.be/hVcJgCvFuWo We had no idea they were going to do the review and were so happy that both Lewis and Willy found it "Simple, Clean. The most secure experience you can have." If you haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, which is nearly on 2.4m views, we've got a summary of highlights for you puri.sm/posts/the-librem-13-re

Data isn't gold, it's uranium. Companies stockpile and refine it because of the great power it creates. But the industry is largely unregulated and creates hazardous by-products. When it spills it's almost impossible to clean up and when it explodes it leaves a wasteland behind.

Many people don't know that @purism offers an anti-interdiction service for laptop orders. In this post I describe what the service is and some of the measures we put in place, including some new ones based on our PureBoot tamper-evident boot process.

Thanks for sharing your ideas David (hackersgame)

@purism Nicole and I (taking the photo) on a little Librem 5 Birch fabrication trip...

I find task switching on the (PureOS) really interesting.

The launcher and the switcher are the *same* view.

No apps are running: the grid of installed apps takes up the full view.

With apps are running: the top half becomes a row of the apps you can swipe through.
