Fully agree with you: #Librem5 and #Pinephone actually help each other and we need both to fight with the walled gardens of #Android and #iOS:
However I often see people saying that they have almost the same specs: same CPU and same amount of RAM.
Note that performance is probably not the main reason for the price difference:

#Convergence aka #Desktop mode works fine on both #smartphones for light tasks. But what is "light"? This is where they differ.

I agree that the image quality difference is not significant. Yes, this is a pity both phones are not much cheaper so more people could afford their freedom. Hope you will join the community of GNU/Linux phone owners soon!
There are a couple serious reasons why #Librem5 is much more expensive than #Pinephone, apart from the product quality:

Maximal and minimal #brightness of the #smartphones. #Librem5 beats #Pinephone at both. Also the Pinephone screen colors look colder in comparison. Librem 5 screen looks more pleasant to my eye.

The keyboard mod is really promising indeed. Although one could also use a Bluetooth keyboard instead, which works with all devices
Expect more about #Librem5vsPinephone from me. In short, #Librem 5 is a higher quality product with more #freedom
@nick Indeed the connection is lost when Pinephone goes to sleep mode. Change the Power Settings - Automatic Suspend.
#Hotspot mode aka #tethering works very well on #Pinephone with #Mobian. #Librem5 then has a decent Internet according to #librespeed speed test! #GNU #Linux
