Based on @merge 's accelerometer work (https://lore.kernel.org/linux-iio/cover.1569143551.git.lorenzo@kernel.org/) and yesterday's work to hook iio-sensor-proxy into #phosh, enabling rotation is just a couple of more lines of code.
The video shows the #librem5 devkit but it is the same for the phone. Please excuse the low video quality.
Did you know that Plasma Mobile apps from KDE are working well on PureOS too? :) This is Kaidan, a Kirigami XMPP client, working smoothly on a Librem 5 @kaidan @kde@mastodon.technology
Did you know that you can update the firmware of a USB-C cable?
Yes. Cable.

I've really been enjoying how easy it is to write simple, useful GUI applications for the #Librem5 and I wrote two posts this week that describe how I wrote a simple screenshot and flashlight app:

#phosh's #wlroots based compositor phoc now implements the necessary bits of the gtk-shell protocol to raise applications from the background when activated.
The video shows how the shell activates #gnome Settings multiple times while another application (the terminal) is in the foreground. The slight delay is caused by Settings taking a moment to figure out it's already running (https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/gnome-control-center/issues/61)
This is part of phoc 0.1.5 (0.1.5 (https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/phoc/-/tags/v0.1.5).
Mutt running natively on my #Librem5 #Chestnut phone--just needed to install the deb and scp my mutt settings from a different computer. #livingthedream
We've gotten some questions as to whether @purism laptops are vulnerable to TPM-Fail. We use a different chipset for our TPM so our laptops don't appear to be vulnerable.
Somebody gets it; the power and freedom of the Librem 5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnbqjNvpupI
Thanks for sharing your ideas David (hackersgame)
I wrote an article about best practices (including travel tips) for PureBoot, @purism 's #FOSS tamper-evident boot firmware that allows the user to control all of the keys and secrets used for the signing process. Check it out here: https://puri.sm/posts/pureboot-best-practices/

Aspen batch phones going out next will get an anodized chassis - look at those kill switches. Thank you for your patience as we incrementally ship through tens of thousands of Librem 5 phones over the coming months. Yes, we know you're excited, we are too and you will be impressed! #Purism #Librem5 #Linux
