For Big Tech companies there are several ways to strip you off of your privacy and to gain control of your digital rights. These companies understand that privacy is really about control. Because they control the OS, their app stores, and their respective clouds, they control their customers’ privacy. They use this control to their advantage against competitors. Do not fall prey to privacy washing 📢 https://puri.sm/posts/privacy-washing-do-as-i-say-not-as-i-do/
@enkerli @timrowe I would recommend @reality2cast with @dsearls & @katherined. I found them recently and they quickly became a favourite #podcast they talk a lot more about possible solutions to problems in tech than about the problems themselves, which is rare and refreshing.
@Wildbill I would love to see this take off more. 🤞
@Wildbill I’ll try again in a few days.
@Wildbill I can’t seem to follow you or a few others. I click the follow icon and the icon immediately changes back. Argh. I wonder if it’s a mastodon.social thing.
@kyle I do find those type of shows fun as a starting point to dig further. They’ll throw out some words like “waulking the wool” that make you think, “Doing what to the wool?” And then look it up. Also, they do a pretty good job with period interiors. *swoon*
@kyle I’m (not at all) shocked!
@kyle things I learned watching Outlander. lol
@garethgreenaway excellent choice!
