"Mom, can I go outside ?" "Wait until you are a big #Pinetab my little #Pinephone. You are still too small for the cold world out there."

What I really miss about #FOSDEM? Those guys in bars in the evening that all claimed to be Satoshi :) After a few beer. Fun times.

@brainblasted

Also the flatpak logic which you just described comes at a cost of: the carzy amount runtimes GB in disk space "virtualizing" userspace, on top of userspace.

In my personal preferences, I find "not healthy", having to do stuff like:

Having to install 700 MB of runtimes to have _one_ QT app.

2GB of runtimes to build from source a 27MB application as flatpak.

Flatpak is built on the notion that disk space is bigger and cheaper by the year, and that is not that linear.

@brainblasted it should be not an application developer job to care about the distro's dependencies.

That is usually the distributions packagers job, when they consider an app interesting enough to be packaged.

@linmobnet @dos

Just a note about contact sync, there is a package in pureOS called: `librem5-goodies` it is a collection of bash scripts with `yad` gui's, one of them is a contacts importer that allows to import contacts from a vcard to GNOME Contacts/Evolution Data Server.

And there is a WIP branch being worked on in upstream GNOME contacts to allow to import contacts from file, you can check that at the end of this ticket:

gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-c

In the last year Google has banned: the Element app, the LBRY app, and several Fediverse apps. If you get all of your apps from a single corporation, be it Google or Apple, you should make an effort to change that.

If you have an Android phone F-Droid is an alternative app repository, and it’s very easy to install! All of the previously mentioned apps have been available from F-Droid throughout being dropped from the Play Store.

If you have an iPhone, please consider other options for your next device. Apple does not respect you enough as a user to consider you possibly more capable of deciding what you should install on your phone than they are. That is absurd; please stop rewarding this behavior with your money.

We live under capitalism, not democracy. The sooner you understand that, far from being complementary, these two ideologies are diametrically opposed, and yes, that this is a zero-sum game, the sooner things start to make sense.

Centralization is totally fine, until it isn't.
Robinhood would never shut people out of buying an asset... until they did.
A guillotine is a perfectly safe place to put your head, until it's not.

This is no where near finished but here's some first bits of startup notifications in (i'm usually using on the but I needed something that takes longer to start up so i went for ):

New @postmarketOS installer feature. You can now choose if you want to install to the SD you're booted from or install to the #pinephone internal storage :)
