Also the flatpak logic which you just described comes at a cost of: the carzy amount runtimes GB in disk space "virtualizing" userspace, on top of userspace.
In my personal preferences, I find "not healthy", having to do stuff like:
Having to install 700 MB of runtimes to have _one_ QT app.
2GB of runtimes to build from source a 27MB application as flatpak.
Flatpak is built on the notion that disk space is bigger and cheaper by the year, and that is not that linear.
@brainblasted it should be not an application developer job to care about the distro's dependencies.
That is usually the distributions packagers job, when they consider an app interesting enough to be packaged.
Kaidan 0.7 is here❗

Just a note about contact sync, there is a package in pureOS called: `librem5-goodies` it is a collection of bash scripts with `yad` gui's, one of them is a contacts importer that allows to import contacts from a vcard to GNOME Contacts/Evolution Data Server.
And there is a WIP branch being worked on in upstream GNOME contacts to allow to import contacts from file, you can check that at the end of this ticket:
In the last year Google has banned: the Element app, the LBRY app, and several Fediverse apps. If you get all of your apps from a single corporation, be it Google or Apple, you should make an effort to change that.
If you have an Android phone F-Droid is an alternative app repository, and it’s very easy to install! All of the previously mentioned apps have been available from F-Droid throughout being dropped from the Play Store.
If you have an iPhone, please consider other options for your next device. Apple does not respect you enough as a user to consider you possibly more capable of deciding what you should install on your phone than they are. That is absurd; please stop rewarding this behavior with your money.

Using #gimp on the #librem5 works better now thanks to the new display scaling feature in #phosh 0.8.0 #UserFreedom #mobile #gnu #linux #freesoftware @purism @agx #gnomeonmobile
#phosh 0.8.0 is out 🚀 : https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/phosh/-/releases/v0.8.0
Changing output resolutions and scaling via GNOME Settings should now mostly work, system modal dialogs don't pop up on the lock screen anymore plus more fixes and i18n improvements. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this release!

@rysiek @phryk And it probably does not need you to have the metadata of all audio files properly filled in order to play them. Unlike many audio players now a days that read only audio files with metadata on them, so you end up spending f*cking hours to make sure your music can be played in them...
