The genius of the gospel is not to cause a political revolution, for such things do more harm than good, but rather to transform the inner person which in turn transforms relationships with others. In these transformations lie the seed to lasting change.
@malanrich @masterofthetiger@theres.life They may require remuneration, but they certainly don't require copyright protection, which is an intellectual monopoly that exists solely as it is enforced by the State. The Reformers certainly knew no such restrictions when using the printing press.
There are other, better, more creative and ethical ways to fund this work. Crowdfund it, kickstart it, patronize it through cooperative dollars given to denominational conventions.

Are you talking about the iROBOT thing? Because that wasn't spyware. It was very dumb, but it wasn't spyware.
I certainly agree that canning Eich was absolutely terrible. Unfortunately, Google (and its technologies) are no better. Neither of these organizations are altogether ethical, esp. from a Christian POV.
As a piece of software I find Firefox more configurable & less nosey than Chrome, so that's what I use. Brave is a Chromium-based curiosity, a no for me

In Col 4.7, most versions prefer translating the Greek word διάκονος as "minister" rather than its general sense, "servant." Why is that? A few, mostly off-versions, translate it as "deacon." Are most of them tainted by a clergy mindset? Or is it simpler, that the third noun is σύνδουλος, which most translate as "fellow(-)servant", and they don't want to translate it a slave, so avoid servant twice in the same phrase? NASB doesn't have a problem with that, however.

I've known Don personally for a few years, and had the privilege of hearing this material taught (and teaching it myself in churches, with the notes he gave me) before this book was ever planned.
It's a simple book that will completely change your prayer life, for the rest of your days. I highly recommend it to you.
