I don't remember why I left Firefox, but it seemed a Very Good Reason at the time.

Are you talking about the iROBOT thing? Because that wasn't spyware. It was very dumb, but it wasn't spyware.
I certainly agree that canning Eich was absolutely terrible. Unfortunately, Google (and its technologies) are no better. Neither of these organizations are altogether ethical, esp. from a Christian POV.
As a piece of software I find Firefox more configurable & less nosey than Chrome, so that's what I use. Brave is a Chromium-based curiosity, a no for me
@zudn
I personally hold the Chromium derived #browsers in higher esteem because there is no false sense of security. #Google has been caught red handed trying to sneak actual spyware into #Chromium and it is looked for closely. Firefox derivatives I think lack that vigilant mindset. Also, Opera forked when they sold it. The #Vivaldi now carries the old #Opera torch.

I have Vivaldi, just haven't gotten completely convinced, I guess.
@iamjameswalters
I admit I may have had an ear for the worst rumors about the iRobot thing. I stand corrected.
@iamjameswalters @vrsmd @masterofthetiger
I didn't mean to open a can of worms. :)
Seems like there was some security issue with Firefox. Or maybe ads? Dunno. I had used it for ages.
Brave seems to do it for me. Though Chromium based, they've ripped out any of the bad stuff, right?
I quit Opera when they sold it.
