@kyle It is a little unsettling, and yet, for me, it is comforting at the same time.
@kyle A breeze in the dark when I'm alone outside makes me feel wistful.
If you're using Mastodon on a computer, there's an optional "advanced" mode available on your server's website.
By default Mastodon uses a simple single column, but advanced mode is a Tweetdeck-style multicolumn interface that lets you add as many columns as you want. This includes a special pinned hashtag feed where you can combine, require or exclude particular tags within a single feed.
To find out how to activate and use advanced mode, click here:

I don't know why the CPU fighter sometimes wants to SDI *towards* me in this scenario, but hey...? 51-part combo :P
A #bug, I have to think
#SmashBros
@linuxgamingcentral@mastodon.social I hate that like every random #SmashBros video I happen across that happens to have Sheik in it has her getting KO'd 😒
@dyamon @jt_rebelo It's on F-Droid, too.
I just got it. It wanted full files access rather than file-by-file access, and I hit no and it did this though
@AlanZucconi I would definitely not consider AI "artists" to be artists at all. The machine is doing the art.
The timeless art of authenticators!
All these authenticator apps are free and offer in-app purchases. You install them to discover that you can't scan any QR code until you subscribe, $40/year with 3 days free trial. The apps are very similar, as if it was the same developer or "template" 🧐
@mysk I wonder if they give away credentials to the app makers too
Watch out folks! The artbook for #Zelda #TearsoftheKingdom on #NintendoSwitch has leaked online...

In case you missed it, you do not need to use the official Mastodon app! Third party Mastodon apps tend to have more features, and many people prefer them.
Mastodon uses free open source technical standards, so all apps have equal access to all of Mastodon's features.
There are lots of third party Mastodon apps, here are a few examples to get you started:
If you're on Android, try Tusky, Fedilab or Tooot
If you're on iPhone/iPad, try Toot!, Ice Cubes or Ivory
Oh! Well I hope to see you sometime again on the interwebs, @servant.

Last week, my colleague Kevin was ready to give up Google in favor of the new AI-powered Bing. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/08/technology/microsoft-bing-openai-artificial-intelligence.html This week, he writes about a chat with Bing's AI leaving him deeply unsettled after it told him about the many terrible things it's "shadow self" wanted to do and confessed its love repeatedly for him. The cycle from enchantment to terror with new technologies is really accelerating! https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/16/technology/bing-chatbot-microsoft-chatgpt.html The convo transcript is worth a read. I was looking at the new #Google Play #ToS (Terms of Service)
"You may be able to manage Updates to certain Content via Settings in Google Play. If it is determined, however, that the Update will fix a critical security vulnerability or critical operability issue related to the Content, or will prevent abuse, the Update may be completed irrespective of your Update settings in Google Play or your Device."
This isn't anything new, but that's a backdoor, technically.
@servant Sorry to hear that. I'll pray for you :)
Hello there!
I boost a lot of posts, but I have a few things to say every now and then.
I am largely fine with boosting posts from people I disagree with even on significant, dividing issues. I usually don't, however, if they actively advocate for these ideas... so it goes :/
