@servant Does it all feel like too much lately?
Hm, I could stream the Superbowl by subscribing to a service at ~$70 a month, or I can by a crappy antenna and watch it on broadcast TV for virtually nothing. What to do what to do.

@servant I wish we could trust it. Imagine a world where you could "follow your heart" and arrive at a destination it tantalizingly gives you hope in, rather than arriving at dispair.
@aral I always take screenshots of my software's first moments :)
If you want to transfer your account from one Mastodon server to another, here's a step-by-step guide all about how to do it:
https://fedi.tips/transferring-your-mastodon-account-to-another-server
It's a bit longer than some guides as it includes transferring followers, follows and mutes/blocks/bookmarks.
Hmm, it got a fact wrong though (in its then-current version, anyway) https://www.reuters.com/technology/google-ai-chatbot-bard-offers-inaccurate-information-company-ad-2023-02-08/
@CM30 It was my first one I watched :)
Today we've released a new update to our iOS app! It brings an improved sign-up flow, home screen widgets, and many accessibility improvements.

On Monday, we shared about two other efforts. One is Bard, an experimental conversational AI service that is separate from Google Search. We’re excited Bard is in a trusted tester phase that will help us continue to learn & improve its quality and speed… #Google #Search #AI #Bard https://blog.google/technology/ai/bard-google-ai-search-updates/
@searchliaison This could really change what it means to search the web — I just hope that more than one search engine gets technology like this, to help diversify perspectives and keep accountability as a factor.
A server's Local timeline shows all the public posts by people on that server.
You can browse other servers' Local timelines by going to their websites and clicking on "Local". You don't need to log in or be a member because these are all public posts.
Some apps also let you follow other servers' Local timelines, such as Ice Cubes for iPhone/iPad or Fedilab for Android.
If you're comfortable using Github, you can vote for following Local to be added to core Mastodon at https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/6942
@Nazareno Oh no
Are you trying to find your contacts from Twitter on Mastodon?
There are online tools which can help with this, however Twitter is apparently going to shut them down by Thursday 9th February.
If you want to use these, now would seem to be your last chance:
🐦 Debirdify

🔍 Fedifinder

A third tool, Movetodon, has already been shut down by Twitter.
This is not a drill! A new #NintendoDirect has been announced for tomorrow, likely with info about #Zelda #TearsoftheKingdom!
Hello there!
I boost a lot of posts, but I have a few things to say every now and then.
I am largely fine with boosting posts from people I disagree with even on significant, dividing issues. I usually don't, however, if they actively advocate for these ideas... so it goes :/
