It took Benjamin Franklin three hours to get going in the morning. Suddenly, I feel decently high-functional.

@RL_Dane This is a cool chart. Franklin drew it himself?

I found out how to return search back to normal. I wish MS asked for permission first....

“Are you sure you want to remove this account? This will remove your access to resources like email, apps, network, and all content associated with it. Your organization might also remove some data stored on this device.”

@cassvs I'm so glad I'm running my college's software in a Windows VM. I highly recommend doing it this way!
It was disturbing when I installed Microsoft Office. Without warning, branding for the college appeared on the Windows search screen and Microsoft Edge landing screen. When I search my computer, college info is searched as well (I didn't ask!). I am restricted from changing some settings. When I tried to log out from my college account via the Settings app, I was met with this message:

Uni: This is how we write resource-efficient algorithms.

Also uni: All communication for this class will be through [insert processor-melting multi-gigabyte bigtech adware product here]

@RL_Dane Oh we have (had?) a deck that looks like that!

CW: Linux ecosystem "politics" hot take

@pixelherodev@fosstodon.org @foura I find that having the initrd separate is nice. When I update my system, sometimes the initrd gets rebuilt. I guess the general principle of creating software in separate modules applies here. If the initrd is changed in an update, you don't also have to download the kernel with it, for example.

Gotta #confess...

I miss the sounds of hard disks clicking.

It was such great auditory feedback regarding your computer's state, and it was so great to HEAR your computer working.

Haven't had one as a primary/boot disk since 2014 or earlier.

Of course, they were pretty quiet by then.

I don't miss my screaming 20MB miniscribe so much.

Well... maybe even that one. X"-D

@pixelherodev@fosstodon.org Does the FS ÿÿÿÿou use not have journaling (or comparable)?

@allinone0@fosstodon.org Hey – if you spell the f word correctly, then my content filter can catch it, so I don't have to see it. I find posts with them bothersome :(

@MKUltralow That's me but when the site says 'by continuing, you agree to [whatever]'

@andrew@f40c40.com I see this post, so it looks like it works on my end (Mastodon); do you see this reply?

@RL_Dane I have used it before, it has great function :) but firewalling it off is a good idea

Small very 😒

It has text correction, unlike many F-droid keyboards (that I tried).
