I was interviewed about supply chain security (around 15 min mark) in a longer CNBC feature about manufacturing phones in the USA. In short, it's less about trust concerns with any particular country/govt., and more about reducing the links in the supply chain to reduce the opportunities to tamper with hardware.

Our Made-in-USA-electronics Librem 5 USA phone also got a number of shout-outs. Pretty neat!

My latest game, McPixel 3 was written entirely in C from scratch, thanks to that it's very easy to port it to everything!

Plus it's enviromentally friendly! Doesn't use much battery and won't make your fans spin up!

I wrote a nano tool that tries to extract the #Fediverse accounts of your #Twitter followings: https://fedifinder.glitch.me/

It searches for the patterns @user@host.tld, user@host.tld and host.tld/@user in the screen name, description, location and URL field. It displays them to you in the correct format for easy copying as well as a CSV download that can be imported to #Mastodon.

Known issue: Mail addresses are included as false positives because people write their handle without a leading @: name@host.tld

When we say the #Librem5 is a mobile computer in your pocket, this is what we mean.

One of our customers (@primalmotion) hacks on custom versions of #PureBoot firmware for their #Librem14 which always runs the risk of temporarily bricking your computer.

When that did inevitably happen, they were able to connect their Librem 5 to their hardware flashing equipment and run the same tools you'd run on your Linux laptop to re-flash working firmware.

A #mobile #Linux devroom application for #FOSDEM was successful. So there will be cross-distribution talks and efforts to progress the state of mobile Linux.

Multiple individuals and distributions are jointly planning this. More details will follow as we hash them out. See you at fosdem!

I keep seeing people say Mastodon is nothing like Twitter. And they’re right.

Mastodon is an echo of the old internet, it’s decentralised, chaotic. What you get depends on your sysadmin. You can’t search, everything has to be shared to you by a human. Networks split apart and rejoin. What you see is your unique connection to it.

Is this good? Maybe. But for me that’s the internet I grew up with. No algorithms, no targeted adverts, just human interaction, and it was glorious.
