Auf den #hund gekommen? Nach zurückhaltenden Schätzungen werden in Deutschland 6 Millionen Hunde gehalten.
Ein Hund macht durchschnittlich (ohne wissenschaftliche Grundlage angenommener Wert an der Untergrenze dessen, was auf Hunderatgeberseiten angegeben wird) 1,5 #Hundehaufen pro Tag.
9 Millionen Hundehaufen jeden Tag. Optimistisch geschätzt werden davon 75% tatsächlich dann auch entfernt. An den verbleibenden 2,25 Millionen täglich produzierten Hundehaufen beschmutzen sich die Mitmenschen.

Ein #Rock64 von @PINE64 mit #Libreelec mit wiederverwendeten, alten LCD-Monitoren, einer alten Fernbedienung und einem günstigen Soundbar waren sehr viel billiger und wenn ich wissen möchte, was für Dummheiten das Gerät macht, kann ich in den Quelltext schauen. Funktioniert sogar super ohne Internet, wenn man will.
@fefebot Ich habe zum Glück nur mal darüber nachgedacht, so etwas zu kaufen. Die Gefahr, dass solche Fernseher irgendwann ohne Internet nicht mehr funktionieren und mit Internet Überwachungsmaschinen schlimmer als Alexa & Co werden (Gestensteuerung, Kamera...) hat mich davon abgehalten...

Meine Stifte zur Meldung, dazu, dass die Schulen nun mit Internet und Rechnern ausgestattet werden sollen. Wenn es für die Bereitstellung einer zeitgemäßen Schulausstattung bereits einer globalen Pandemie bedurfte, dann ist die Sorge berechtigt, dass es möglicherweise erst im Zuge der Auswirkungen der Klimakatastrophe Mittel für die Sanierung der Gebäude geben wird. Eins ums andere Mal bedauert man, dass Kinder keine Autos sind, denn Parkhäuser sind IT technisch besser angebunden und ausgestattet als das durchschnittliche Gesamtschulzentrum, vom baulich besseren Zustand mal ganz abgesehen. Und mit dem TÜV aus Hessen hat man bei der Parkplatzsuche in München auch kein Problem, wohingegen man beim Abi im falschen Bundesland gerne mal mit Wartesemstern belohnt wird. Die Gewerkschaft der Lehrer mahnt im übrigen an, dass es nicht ausreiche, Lehrer mit Rechnern auszustatten, wenn man diese nicht darin schule und sich übergreifende Gedanken zum schulischen Einsatz der neuen Medien mache. Ich lass das mal so stehen..

Nice experience. Good configuration options by editing a .json config file.
The interface scales nicely and I'm tempted to try it on my #pinephone. Didn't find out whether the flatpak is supporting the architecture.
@mobian O.k. that seems to work :). Followed https://flatpak.org/setup/Debian/ and then installed the #flatpak of #shortwave (~700MB - it comes at some cost...).
Uhm, the installation failed twice at some point and then made my #pinephone unresponsive to ssh and serial console.
A restart later and another installation try worked :)...

Thanks for the explanation! I can follow very well that argumentation. So to package #shortwave one would have to package all of the "internet-dependencies" independently and pull them in per dpkg-dependency, right?

Uhm, rust apps are a problem for Debian? This sounds quite strange.
There are opinions out there that rust is one of the new emerging programming languages that could really have an impact on security.
E.g. https://www.heise.de/hintergrund/Entwicklung-Warum-Rust-die-Antwort-auf-miese-Software-und-Programmierfehler-ist-4879795.html (sorry, only in German, but I bet there are a lot of documents out there that describe the dis-/advantages of rust).

Looking at its homepage I've been surprised by the information that it is using #libhandy and compatible with the #Librem5.
Now listening to #radioparadise happily. Nice application!
