If you use --upstream-vcs-tag and have projects with repacked tarballs then this release should make this use case simpler (thanks to a patch by Richard Laager). There's some bugfixes as well.

@ebassi this will be a great help for #phosh allowing to pick some things from the wlr and others from the GNOME portal. Great!

In order for 4k external displays to work well on the Librem 5 the imx8s mainline display stack needs to support TS buffer sharing and DEC400. This needs work in the gpu drivers, kernel display stack drivers and (to a lesser extend) phoc.

The reason phosh already works well in docked mode and for giving presentations is that it isnt' t that noticeable in lower resolutions like lapdocks or presenters.

This is what this point mostly refers to.

@danctnix any idea why that is? There's also https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/merge_requests/5628 which makes apps launch look slow (as GTK drops the xdg-activation token)

gsettings set sm.puri.phosh force-adaptive "['re.sonny.Tangram.desktop ']"

@FOSSingularity@strangeobject.space Did you enable both "Opportunistic word completion" and "Toggle via OSK menu" in phosh-mobile-settings under "Text completion" in the "On Screen keyboard" tab"?

If so try gedit or chatty. Both should enable the completion bar automatically. If you then switch to a language layout (e.g. "German") and phosh-osk-stub doesn't find a matching dictionary it should print an error message to the logs hopefully telling you what's wrong.

@benpocalypse Phosh's landscape isn't much tuned atm as usually you want landscape and fullscreen (e.g. video players, terminals) which works just fine. The keyboard case is a bit different but noone bothered to send patches in that direction so far.

Making the nav bar smaller somewhat helps "by accident" but I'm happy it makes things more usable for the keyboard use case.

Benutzer freier Software, (z.B. #LinuxMobile) gucken komplett in die Röhre.
