The German state of Hesse has banned the use of #Microsoft365 in its schools, citing concerns over privacy violations.
#CollaboraOnline is designed with privacy in mind. We offer discount pricing for educational institutions! 🧑🎓

I finally got around to updating mmsd-tng to libsoup3 and I released a beta edition here!: https://gitlab.com/kop316/mmsd/-/tags/2.0.beta
What I will say is it works for me (tm), but I would like to make sure it works for:
1) Verizon Wireless USA and,
2) a carrier that has an MMS proxy.
I would sincerely appreciate anyone that meets those categories and can test to please do, and let me know if it works.

Yesterday, we moved the fractal-next branch to main. This means we will get now nightly builds. 🎉
So the main reason I wrote the Visual Voicemail App for mainline linux phones is because my mother leave voicemails if she can't get a hold of me to check up on me and gets worried if I don't call her back.
I'm glad to share that my mom can still do that since I switched to a #librem5
(and yes, I did call her back both times!)
UPDATE: Another Librem 14 laptop manufacturing run has arrived at our warehouse, as we massively increase our stock to weather any future supply chain issues. Good time to order your new machine, we say ➡️ https://shop.puri.sm/shop/librem-14/
Got to play (as in only tested, and did none of the work), with a couple merge requests in #phosh to improve VPN support in #phosh
Top bar shows a VPN padlock symbol, and the openvpn connection worked. In this case using Librem One. And Duckduckgo thinks I am in the US.
One note: this was only for adding better support for VPN in #phosh, the VPN settings panels in #GNOME Control Center still need to be made adaptive. But again: “hey it is progress”. Kudos to @agx for this work!
Our team works hard to maintain support for the Librem 5 phone. Check out the progress on mainline support for the phone and its development kit. Kudos to the team 🎉 https://puri.sm/posts/purism-and-linux-5-16/

I’ve been making veiled comments about a situation in the Linux desktop community for a while, and I think it’s finally time to lift the curtain: https://blogs.gnome.org/christopherdavis/2021/11/10/system76-how-not-to-collaborate/
System76 has not been kind downstream, and they’ve made a habit of talking poorly about their upstream projects and then using that as a jumping point to market their own projects.
Recently flashed my #Librem5 with byzantium. And wanted to restore the data for the apps I use on the #librem5 (podcasts, rss feed, mastodon account, online radios, email). I simply copied the directories of those apps from my laptop home folder to the #librem5 home folder, and it was all there, and all the apps worked.
Yes, I know that for linux users the idea of syncing data across home folders is normal. But it still feels kinda cool to be able to do that between a laptop and a phone.
