TheLinuxGamer reviews the Librem 5 Dogwood:
If you need some #debconf20 entertainment around #phosh and #libhandy, watch this talk by @agx: https://meetings-archive.debian.net/pub/debian-meetings/2020/DebConf20/13-my-phone-runs-debian-and-it-does-phone-calls.webm
@purism That was awesome! Also, if you can run doom 3, that probably means that https://www.thedarkmod.com/main/ (open source first person stealth game) would probably run as well. Very cool!

The Vivante GC7000Lite GPU in the Librem 5 provides a lot of 3D rendering power while still protecting your #freedom with free software drivers. Here’s a look at how some 3D games run on the Librem 5 today.
@craftyguy Looks awesome! Also, what are your thoughts on the L5 dogwood? If for instance, you happen to have a Pine Phone, how do feel the two devices compare? I'm interested to know both your opinions on build quality as well as the relative performance level of the two devices.
Thanks in advance!
@mntmn Thats a hilarious name for the program! You sir have a a great sense for naming things.
@kyle Wow what a comprehensive and just overall great article. Thanks for sharing!
This extensive and thoughtful post by a member of the #Librem5 community does a good job of explaining the past and present mobile Linux ecosystem and why Purism's approach with phosh makes strategic sense long-term. https://amosbbatto.wordpress.com/2020/08/05/advantages-of-phosh/
@thomasorus That was a good read, thanks for sharing!
Hacked a thermal camera on the pogopins of the #pinephone :)
@mntmn So I also backed the EOMA project (twice IIRC). I don't hate lkcl for what happened, I think the big mistake of that project was that he was doing almost all of it himself. I check in on the libreSOC email archives every now and then and I think his team is larger now. Like his old project, I don't know if this one will be pan out, but I do think it is an important task which should be done. Considering I don't see any other viable alternatives, I have to wish them luck.
@mntmn That there is a beautiful pupper.

@mntmn I think it uses ID tech 4 (from doom 3). Also, it isn't really a mod it's a full on open source game, similar to the theif series.
@mntmn Hey, what do you think the chances are that this would run okay on the reform?
