The final tote fabric is done! This makes four different totes I was able to make from the same warp. This fabric I'm going to set aside and make into a tote some time after I'm done with the rest of my holiday projects. I'm definitely ready to start on something else. Next up: twill patterned scarf. #weaving

* How to Brew by Palmer has all the base foundational info you need
* Get a basic brewing starter kit w/ bucket from brewing store
* If you like cider, it is even easier to learn fermentation process, basically juice + sugar + yeast + time
* Start with a pre-measured, pre-made extract kit. They are high quality these days and provide step-by-step instructions and are easy to make
* Focus on sanitization 1st, then fermentation temp control. Critical for good beer.

@Viss That is the major (user facing) problem with binary blob drivers that can't be in the mainline kernel. They eventually stop being maintained by the vendor and can't be picked up by anyone else. Same reason those random ARM SoC RPi competitors and old Android phones eventually become un-updateable.

@paulietoes I personally use the Cawbird client on my Librem 5 to access Twitter and it seems to work pretty well (and shows me ad-free chronological timelines!)

@mayread3 I only started weaving as a hobby a year ago but I find it to be a really nice and relaxing way to spend some of my free time. It's a great departure from my day job and exercises a different part of my brain.

I've also found it to be really rewarding (and appreciated) to gift things I've made, so I've ended up devoting more of my free time than normal during the holiday season to weaving so I can make presents!

You should be mindful of the degree to which vendors can remotely control the hardware and software you buy.

Even if you are privileged enough to live in a country where the government doesn't force vendors to push features that squash public dissent and protests, or aid government surveillance, there is no guarantee it will always be that way. @kashhill Hashtags actually do mean something on this platform and after following interesting people (and possibly people they boost), searching for and following hashtags (and using them yourself) is the next way to find interesting conversations. Many people also put hashtags in their profile to advertise the types of topics they discuss. For instance searching #privacy would likely turn up quite a few conversations.
