My rug is done! This took about a month to complete on my rigid heddle loom. There are mistakes here and there but I learned a LOT along the way I will be able to apply to the next rug. #weaving

I spent quite a bit of this weekend #weaving because I was so close to finishing my first rug. Late last night I reached the end! The green rows are to hold the fringe until I can secure them off the loom. Now I just need to take it off the loom and perform finishing steps.

That wasn't so bad. The sensors were just completely covered in dirt. I gave them a quick cleaning and the Roomba is back in working order.

Time to fix the Roomba circle of death (again).

I found the cutest little portable mechanical calculator at a thrift store today! This one was designed for adding Imperial length measurements (notice the fraction column and the column that goes to 11).

Progress goes surprisingly fast on this loom considering the fine (fingering weight) yarn I'm using, and the fact it's my first time weaving on a floor loom.

With some cleaning and some oiling, I was able to get it fully working.

We'll see if I can get this working without taking it apart any further.

Today I'm restoring a Swedish Facit mechanical pinwheel calculator from the late 1930s/early 1940s white labeled by R. C. Allen. At the moment number entry doesn't work, so this could get interesting.

It's back in full working order. Here's 1111 + 9999.

It's looking and working a lot better already.

Today I'm cleaning and refurbishing a 1906 Brunsviga mechanical calculator. It's the oldest calculator in my collection and the first with a pinwheel mechanism.

I got a free floor loom today! This is a four harness loom made by the Towle company in the 1950s or `60s. Used floor looms are like upright pianos in that they are either very expensive or very cheap/free. This one came with a bench, warping board, and a box full of accessories!

Ant Update 2: Some time overnight, the ant moved again and is facing up toward 12 o'clock. It must still be alive.

Update: the ant (somehow?!) seems to have moved a bit...

Bug report: I went to brush this ant off of my monitor and discovered it was *inside* the screen. It is now permanently in my field of view unless I take my monitor apart.
