I recorded this episode of @reality2cast back in April with @shawnp0wers and @kyle about making the move from Twitter to the fediverse with Mastodon and I think it’s all still relevant. It’s a fun and nerdy chat you can check out here: https://www.reality2cast.com/109 #TwitterMigration #podcast #opensource #nerdsWithMics 🤓🎙️
@shawnp0wers ack, I guess it will be a process.
@shawnp0wers I keep missing your livestreams lately. Boo.
@starshaped I decided to give the Hobonichi weeks planner a try because the size seemed perfect for portability, and holy wow is the paper awesome. Kind of mind blowing. I got the mega, which I may or may not even need, but it’s still not that thick. Amazing.
We’re bringing back #followfriday right?
@bpepple @alexwinter ah, nice!
@alexwinter and there are instructions and code to copy under your profile -> appearance settings. There should be a heading that says “Verification.”
@alexwinter if spoofing is your main concern, you can also link a known website associated with you to your mastodon profile, and it will appear as “verified” by a green highlight like the below. Use the rel=“me” attribute in the link.
@Mrpotato all in for the wine. lol
@mmasnick Humans are challenging. 😂
@mmasnick Also, “so far” is a few years now, and I’ve enjoyed the type of interaction here, but it has never been as active as the last week. It has been fun to see the recent excitement.
@mmasnick I think the type of people who are curious enough to put in the time are more likely to be people I’d want to interact with. So far at least. 🤞
@tchambers ah, yes. That makes sense.
