@servant @Big_Diggity I like Twenty Øne Piløts, Half•Alive, TobyMac, and videogame music, often 8-bit-era chiptune.
@servant No particular reason why, time aside. I suppose one sermon a week works fine for me. Though the college I am part of right now has about eight sermons per week, so I suppose I listen to a lot!
@servant Brown! Underrated.
@servant Currently I do not listen to sermons outside of church and my college's requirements.
Update: 49,215 new users across different Mastodon servers since yesterday. Probably a lot of them are actually from yesterday. My crawler only runs once a day so I get a bit of a delayed view of things.
@bearmine for folks in the US, it might be easier to think of Mastodon as a country, and instances as states. You can just start in any state, each state has its own rules, and if you find that it’s not a good fit, you can move to a different state to have an experience that you like better. Your posts live in whatever state you’re a part of, but can be shared with other folks in other states.
@arscslvt@fosstodon.org @murph Also, you can block servers that don't moderate the way you believe correct. E.g. if you block badsite.com then all @ badsite.com users will disappear from your feed, cannot follow you (I think), etc.
Hello @stafford_greer! You joined mastodon.social, which is really huge. If you want more community, here are a few ideas:
• Check out your server's local timeline. In it you can see other @ mastodon.social users posting. Find interesting people there and hit follow.
• Consider choosing a different server. Again mastodon.social is huge. You might like choosing a server that is focused on your interests. Such as fosstodon.org if you are into tech.
@UIMLavendr You got it!
@bearmine Perhaps it has to do with email's age. I think back in that day people were more willing to do hard things — though yeah it really isn't that hard at all!
Hello newer users, here are a few neat accounts I suggest checking out (shuffled except for the first one):
@feditips: excellent tips on how to use Mastodon and the wider Fediverse.
@bs: Bad Software ideas
@PetabyteStudios
@RL_Dane
@256: nostalgic screenshots and pictures relating to old computer technology
@mike
@Big_Diggity
@servant
Note that a number of these people are Christians (like me!). Only fair to say; it's your feed.
I follow more users, but these are some.
@servant Why thanks 😁
The Fediverse is poppin' :)
Quick tip: if you camelCase your hashtags, people who use screen readers will have an easier time with them.
So, for example: #twitterMigration or #TwitterMigration instead of #twittermigration
Hello there!
I boost a lot of posts, but I have a few things to say every now and then.
I am largely fine with boosting posts from people I disagree with even on significant, dividing issues. I usually don't, however, if they actively advocate for these ideas... so it goes :/
