Hello @stafford_greer! You joined mastodon.social, which is really huge. If you want more community, here are a few ideas:
• Check out your server's local timeline. In it you can see other @ mastodon.social users posting. Find interesting people there and hit follow.
• Consider choosing a different server. Again mastodon.social is huge. You might like choosing a server that is focused on your interests. Such as fosstodon.org if you are into tech.
@UIMLavendr You got it!
@bearmine Perhaps it has to do with email's age. I think back in that day people were more willing to do hard things — though yeah it really isn't that hard at all!
Hello newer users, here are a few neat accounts I suggest checking out (shuffled except for the first one):
@feditips: excellent tips on how to use Mastodon and the wider Fediverse.
@bs: Bad Software ideas
@PetabyteStudios
@RL_Dane
@256: nostalgic screenshots and pictures relating to old computer technology
@mike
@Big_Diggity
@servant
Note that a number of these people are Christians (like me!). Only fair to say; it's your feed.
I follow more users, but these are some.
@servant Why thanks 😁
The Fediverse is poppin' :)
Quick tip: if you camelCase your hashtags, people who use screen readers will have an easier time with them.
So, for example: #twitterMigration or #TwitterMigration instead of #twittermigration
@RL_Dane I wish every program would let you export data.
@dallin@fosstodon.org There are significant enough differences between Christianity and Mormonism to make it a different religion. For example, Christianity is monotheistic: Isaiah 43:10; 44:6; 45:5. Unlike Mormonism: _Mormon Doctrine_, p. 163; Articles of Faith, p. 35. And Christianity teaches that you are saved by grace through faith and not by works: Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:28. Unlike Mormonism: _Miracle of Forgiveness_, p. 206; _Articles of Faith_, p. 92.
@reddit_memebot I hate dishonesty. I don't like seeing cool pictures and having to ask if the author is lying or not.
Okay, so... I have a bit of an announcement.
I've created a website for FediFollows which has all the accounts I've ever recommended (that are still working!) organised into nice topics and tags:
You can browse the main directory or the top 100 tags page. (Also considering adding an "all tags" page, if there's demand.)
Please let me know what you think! Any feedback very welcome 🙏
(This is why I haven't posted in a few days! 😅 )
#VanillaOS offers an innovative, modernized "post-Debian" experience

@servant I think it includes your own replies to it. Maybe that's it?
@servant Nice to see you're not the kind who would steal it :)
Hello there!
I boost a lot of posts, but I have a few things to say every now and then.
I am largely fine with boosting posts from people I disagree with even on significant, dividing issues. I usually don't, however, if they actively advocate for these ideas... so it goes :/
