@ActionRetro When I think of the IBM PC I always imagine the box sideways with the monitor on top. But I'm a youngster going off of pics I see online 🤷

@exocomics That's a nice way of doing the art :) The shadow really sells it.

@killyourfm @kurohana Probably not comfortable. I'd still prefer it over the joystick when using (for example) Smash Bros. Ultimate's stage editor, though. It could find usage in these extra features maybe.

I've also since noticed that the bumper buttons head down the side more than usual, and that the trigger buttons are pretty large for a joy-con. I feel like my index and middle fingers could rest over the bumper and trigger buttons well, respectively.

Well -- well-placed enough for a joy-con as a mouse.
Also, note what appears to be an optical sensor in the Switch 2 joycons in that picture.

@killyourfm Very briefly, you can see what appears to be some sort of optical sensor in the Switch 2 joycons. I think yes! social.librem.one/@golemwire/1

I think the joycons are going to have the ability to work as mice, maybe as a replacement for the touchscreen when the switch is docked.
Have it control an OS-level mouse cursor to emulate the touchscreen and adoption of this feature could be a breeze, and maybe even backwards-compatible with Switch 1 games!

Design note: since the right joycon has its joystick lower than the left joycon's joystick, its buttons (ABXY) are well-placed for a mouse.

The video-generating AI is being really annoying. I'm literally uploading screenshots of Smash Bros. and it is telling me ThIs conTEnt Can'T bE SHoWn fOr NoW. wE'rE STill devELOping hOW wE EVAluATE WhiCH ConTent ConFLictS wiTh ouR PoLICies
