I boost a lot of posts, but I have a few things to say every now and then.
I am largely fine with boosting posts from people I disagree with even on significant, dividing issues. I usually don't, however, if they actively advocate for these ideas... so it goes :/

There's a new groups system for the Fediverse called chirp.social. More info at:
You can join a group by following the group account. You can post to the group by @-ing the group account, which then reposts that to all its other followers
It is similar to the existing https://a.gup.pe system, but chirp.social allows a group manager to delete posts and ban people from the group.
It works on all Fediverse platforms including Mastodon.

@servant @RL_Dane Debian Stable is fine, if you are willing to get out-of-date (feature-wise, not security-wise) packages.
Debian Testing works OK and gets you more up-to-date packages. But if you want a distribution that uses up-to-date packages then Debian Testing isn't your best choice IMO.
I use Debian (Stable) on my Internet server. It works great.

Mastodon and the Fediverse are at their best when you are following lots of people, not only because you see their posts, but because you also see the posts they share. Seeing lots of shares makes it much easier to discover stuff.

Following people is how discovery works on here. There's no computer algorithm pushing stuff to you, instead there are millions of human beings manually sharing stuff they find interesting.
