have you met anyone from the #fediverse in person?

@pixelherodev@fosstodon.org You have a Gentoo system... curious, do you have a way to count how many lines of code your entire system is made out of?

Congrats to Debian for winning this one!

@dallin@fosstodon.org It is worth noting that this is Mormon, a religious minority that considers itself Christian but is rejected as a cult by Christianity at large. Mormonism (LDS/Latter Day Saints, "The Church of Jesus Christ") isn't Christianity. *Certainly* not in the typical sense (which is how your usage of 'Christian' may be interpreted as without qualification)!

@RL_Dane It's crazy what those AI art generators can do.

@vwbusguy I think there should have been an option for neither more nor less likely.

What is the Mark II? A tinker-friendly open source hardware platform that can run every element of a voice assistant on device whether you are online or not.

If you want a link to be clickable on here, remember to include https:// at the beginning when you're writing it.

Twitter automatically turns any phrase with a dot in the middle into a link, but that doesn't happen on Mastodon etc because sometimes people want to include dots in phrases that aren't links.

(This also applies to other kinds of link protocol such as gemini:// etc)

@aceattveg@mastodon.social That's awesome

I have a habit of saying ouch when I bump into something even when I don't get hurt.

@RL_Dane Totally agree. Though for my use cases Windows is not needed for compatibility with anything (I'm happy about that!) so Linux is both more practical and more pure for me.

Windows is so bad at a technical level that it actually becomes impractical for me though lol

@RL_Dane Here's something I have come to realize: practicality is part of "perfection". Though BSD may be technically superior to Linux, if Linux "just works" with much more hardware and software than BSD, then for good or bad it is practically superior.
And when it comes down to it, that makes it better for the vast majority of use cases.
