@Luigi311 @austriancoder Not for crimson, but dawn will get these recent improvements backported soon.
@Sh4d0w_H34rt @thelinuxEXP I'm on a #Librem5 and have several bank accounts in a few countries. All of their web apps work in Firefox without requiring an Android app.
Two of them did claim to require a duopoly app so I walked in to a branch, said I have a #Linuxphone and will need to take my money elsewhere if they dont allow me to login using Firefox on my Linux phone or Linux PC. One of them simply clicked something on their workstation and said 'Oh sure you can log in now,' and the other bank sent me a physical token.
It's funny how Flathub says that an application is "potentially unsafe" because of such things as "can access hardware devices such as webcams or gaming controllers", "can read and write all data on the file system" or "can access the contents of the screen or other windows".
Without knowing what it's exactly talking about you would think that "this application is potentially powerful" would be a better wording 🤪
@agturcz @kbob It's a different frontend for the same engine. apt was created to make changes benefiting humans without breaking tons of scripts that rely on apt-get.
"apt-get upgrade" only upgrades packages, never installs new dependencies or remove old ones.
"apt upgrade" installs new ones but doesn't remove old ones.
"apt-get/apt dist-upgrade/full-upgrade" both installs and removes packages as needed to perform the upgrade.
Under normal circumstances I just always use "apt full-upgrade" 😜
@Luigi311 There's still plenty of room for improvement! Several things there I've definitely half-assed 😂
Processing on the L5 is pretty quick too, crazy how fast it is compared to the original postprocess from the PP times.
@dos killed it with his last pass through. All of this was point and click with nothing done externally or requiring any fiddling with a stock crimson install.
Just got back from carlsbad caverns. While out an about i figured i would take my #Librem5 and take some pictures to compare to my #FLX1. Tested with latest millipixels on crimson for the L5 and furicam on FLX1. L5 was actually way better than expected, it was a bit hard to get it to focus correctly and the cam preview does not do it justice since the magic happens in post but its good!

@grymas1000lecia vsync?
@janvlug @austriancoder @etam Nope. This was an ancient GTK3 issue.
@etam There were recent changes in Mesa by @austriancoder that sound like they could be related: https://christian-gmeiner.info/2026-06-10-fixing-the-rb-swap-the-right-way/
Worth checking whether all of these fixes are present in the version used in this pmOS release.
@nima Jokes aside, I don't think the place where Valve messed it up is actually FLOSS; my informed guess is that this is part of their EC firmware and AFAIK it isn't free (they did mention doing some groundwork for opening it up eventually, but that was years ago already) 🤔
So this was already fixed in a later version, but cherry-picking the fix back to 257 isn't trivial, ending up with huge conflicts as the patch refactors some stuff that were also touched by earlier commits that fix eight issues at once, co-developed by Claude 🤮 So I just rewrote the fix myself in three lines of code...
Both Librem 5 and Steam Deck aren't the cheapest pieces of hardware around, for some good reasons. However, did you know that you can easily get your return on investment by harvesting free power? It's easy, just connect them to each other and both devices will be charging at once. Use this to recharge the batteries, so you can then plug something else in to feed of the free energy you just collected. Follow for more tech tips!
