Preview of the incoming new 2-finger zoom gesture in Komikku

🧪 Work in progress

Screencast realized on my laptop with touchpad. Result is smoother on my Librem 5 with the touchscreen.

@naugtur I expected something similar, but neither rebooting nor purging ~/.cache helped. I can still instantly reproduce it by switching font hinting level to None or Slight 🤨

@andyprice No. I don't even adjust genders when singing in first person in a gendered language 😜 The lyrical I was stating it at a time when there was a queen, so a queen it is.

@mntmn FYI we have upstreamed Librem 5 support in u-boot which included some generic imx8mq stuff too and our downstream tree is now just a few small patches on top of mainline u-boot; maybe that's something you'll find useful: source.puri.sm/Librem5/uboot-i

Have you ever spent an hour expecting 2+2*2 to be 8 before you figured out that you're missing some parenthesis?

Turns out that almost two decades of programming experience did not prepare me for an equivalent problem with operator precedence in C. Never trust a human brain 😜

@raptor85 So turns out this happens with font hinting set to None or Slight; doesn't happen with Medium or Full.

@raptor85 GLX/EGL are how you access a GL/GLES context, you can't really use one instead of another. I've tried it with softpipe and llvmpipe and it's still broken with both, so no driver oddities at play (unless it's a regression in core Mesa, but how likely is that? :P)

@raptor85 Not sure yet, just upgraded an Arch installation and got this 😅 Some characters are simply missing. It works fine with QT_QUICK_BACKEND=software, but still broken with GL backend and llvmpipe (so it's clearly Qt's fault). Also, Qt Widgets apps are fine.

@ticktok This kind of adapter is explicitly forbidden by the spec, by the way.

@movonw @mantis Such a simple stuff like collisions is probably not worth abstracting into a generic helper library, since you'll most likely end up having to translate data structures, making it a burden to use. Usually you have this kind of stuff provided by physics engine (such as Bullet or ODE) which already force some specific data representation on you. Maybe that's what you're after?

@mantis @movonw I have my own, so haven't really looked for other stuff 🤷

Do you want to plug it into existing rendering/windowing system or have it handle that on its own?

@pecet@101010.pl Czy właśnie zostałem zachęcony do obejrzenia półgodzinnego dokumentu o foncie Papyrus? Być może...

@mcc This one could be easily achieved today simply by running Waydroid on some VR Wayland compositor.

@aeva Shorty after Google dropped the ball I settled on CommaFeed and been using it ever since.

@Juice8767@nerdculture.de @gamingonlinux I'm using xow, works fine. Previously you had to update libusb to prevent it from eating 100% CPU on one core, but since the recent update of the base OS it's not needed anymore.
