"In 2020, there is a free software equivalent for every mainstream commercial program on the market today."

The first in a three-part series on PureOS for Creatives by our guest blogger, Tre Scranton

@lunduke I think it's because Google is cutting funding.

@purism how good is Microsoft Office 365 and One drive?
My wifes' school has both and the executive are pushing Microsoft services over Google.

The #GUADEC fun doesn't end with the sessions, we have social events and activities too! Take a look at what we've got planned: blogs.gnome.org/engagement/202

@exalm@floss.social how can it not be aligned!?

@purism thanks for these posts. I enjoy reading them.

Surveillance capitalism is the same as climate change, but for data:

- Some people have been warning about its consequences for years
- Most people don't care because they don't feel concerned, they can't see it affecting them
- A few companies are making a lot of damage with the help of governments
- When we will face the consequences it will be too late
- We can still do something about it, and the sooner the better

@lunduke Just because they didn't fit the Elf's expectations of beauty, Elf's discarded them to the swamps of the world!

@gnome my timezone (UTC+8) puts the event in the middle of the night. Is there a way I could watch and still be involved?

@teknari@1929.com @purism to do that you'll need access to the cellular modem and I don't think we can that level of access with any modem on market. We are able to do that with wifi when a network has multiple access points.

Mozilla's move to @matrix has officially been opened for the general public last night. Blog post here: exple.tive.org/blarg/2020/02/2

You can find the Mozilla #a11y team here: matrix.to/#/#Accessibility:moz.

And if you missed my introduction to the #Riot web interface for screen reader users in December, here it is: marcozehe.de/2019/12/20/how-to

@coding_hedgehog@mastodon.me.uk @todd once they get the Bluetooth module working, it should work the same as your Linux computer. Making the interface a seamless experience on the phone is another problem 😛

@purism bummer, but people staying safe is more important than shipping a few devices.

@purism I am getting into mapping for OpenStreetMaps with Vespucci. I hope Gnome Maps or Pure Maps expands their editing functionality to edit as well as Vespucci.

I updated a URL on one of @gitlab's documentation page to link to a new feature and they shipped me a cool mug!

Google makes billions of dollars and this is there mobile website!? I thought it was 2019, not 2009!
