By popular demand -osk-stub now also allows to add plain `alt` and `ctrl` to the terminals shortcuts bar. This makes usage with complex key combos easier (I'm looking at you ):

Hi All,

I recently got a few Meshtastic devices, but was sad to see there is no Linux based GUI for it (though an excellt Python CLI library/App). So I rolled up my sleeves and make a basic GUI in GTK4/Libadwaita! I think it turned out pretty well.

If you test it out and find bugs, please let me know!

I've been experimenting with @agx 's phosh-osk-keyboard , and hacked together a script to automatically change the shortcuts based on the window titles.

It's time for your newest FOSSphones news roundup! As usual, the same page will also be posted on our gemini capsule.

New blog post: Weekly GNU-like Mobile Linux Update (41/2024): Successful moves and XMPP calling linmob.net/weekly-update-41-20

@badrihippo @agx
I usually get 'hey' for hey swipes, but sometimes hwy/hgwy. Enable multiple suggestions, and maybe cull some words from your list.

gsettings set sm.puri.phosh.osk.Completers.Pipe command 'sh -c "swipeGuess /path/to/words-qwerty-en_gb 5 | tr \"\t\" \"\n\""'

The OSK panel in mobile settings is becoming more complete. After adding layout selection last cycle, selecting the default text completer is on its way now too. The data is provided by the OSK so new completers are picked up automatically.

(it's also my main test case for Bluetooth testing 😃 )

Any hints how to get a response from support? It's been almost a week since I contacted them regarding a warranty case (a broken hinge on an only 3mo old Fairbuds XL 🎧) and except for the auto responder it's total radio silence. (I''m pretty dependent on the noise canceling feature).

Do you have any experience in Python and GTK4? Do you want to help maintain an app with literally tens of users? Do you hate every web browser to the point you want to avoid it altogether?

Web Apps is the app for you (to help maintain)! I have marked a few issues as 'contribution welcome' here: codeberg.org/eyekay/webapps/is

University is starting to keep me busier than usual, but I don't want to let it create yet another abandonware strewn in the GNOME ecosystem.

Pro-tip: Write code for the reviewers. Helping them helps you.

A very specific case: Separate code movement from other changes to independent commits.

As a reviewer, checking code movement with 'git show --color-moved' takes mere seconds rather than minutes. Checking subsequent changes on top is easy as well. Combined, it's much, much harder.

And remember, it might be you looking at the same commits years down the line.

At @phosh, we are working on making the quick-settings panel more responsive and snappy.

This new layout lets you access the preferences (i.e. status pages) quickly and in a responsive manner.

Feel free to join the merge request discussion (gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/p) and test this new feature, so we can land it soon!

We're currently collecting a bunch of issues to then work on in the next two quarters:
