@erebion Install an icon theme that isn't from gnome (so, not adwaita), then switch that icon theme to be the default.
@bragefuglseth @Tuba @GeopJr Anyone else always get that bug where you have to keep logging in every time you launch it?
@lunduke And hey, GIMP 3.0 isn't released yet, so there's still time for a fork (woke or otherwise) to take off.
@lunduke And it was the perfect time for a GIMP fork... "all" they needed to do was release 3.0 first (switch to GTK 3 and remove python 2). Maybe remove some unfinished features, drop plugins, etc. Distros would start packaging it (successor to GIMP, with cruft removed), and I would be using it (Gimp, but it works on HiDPI screens).
@tasket @stevenimpson Banks? You mean those ceramic pigs in children's bedrooms? I never need to use an app to access the cash under my mattress!
@holo_memory whisper.cpp
@libreleah @BrodieOnLinux The solution to the Google problem is AGPL. They won't touch it out of fear of being forced to open source their monorepo.
@alaraajavamma @furilabs Have you tried any other UI's besides phosh on it?
@mntmn I absolutely love the effort to make a 'batteries included' "desktop" using a wayland compositor. Where can I find your configuration/recommended applications?
@jameschip If the door was left open...and maybe if you need to replace the water filter or air filter.
@jameschip My microwave came with a setting to disable the beeps... unfortunately the refrigerator didn't.
Can we have an abstraction over these UI toolkits/libs so apps can target multiple UIs without thinking too hard about it? 😅
@craftyguy @bart @cas @postmarketOS As SXMO has dmenu-based apps, we could conceivably make something heavier but still nice. zenity/yad allow for more robust prompts. Maybe a "pipe some ui definition into here" tool would work for the non-dialog (main application window) part of apps.
We just need a common language for UI definition.
@foone compliance with the GPL: "you may find the source code by pulling out the SD card"
But... aside from the weed and no war, those accomplishments don't seem very libertarian.
@Andromxda@hachyderm.io @beacondb
So they say data will be 'public domain', but haven't released anything yet. Is there not some copyleft DB license that can be used instead? (to prevent EEE from competitors and force everyone to be more open)
@martijnbraam It uses wireless technologies, has a headphones jack and take a card. hmm.......
@libreleah Which democratic institutions? I know I have a different lens, but when I look at Project 2025, I mostly see "replace the Obama-era unelected bureaucrats with our bureaucrats"
